| Thanks for the advice..yeah I am not sitting on this, I have him on my lap right now, and I have been watching him very closely daily. I watch what he eats, when and how much, bowl movements,etc.. He is totally acting like nothing is wrong, only when he makes those hacking sounds. If I notice anything different or odd before his appointment time, then I will give the Vet another call to get him right in to be seen sooner. I don't like it and actually I have been contacting the breeder, and they haven't responded so, I don't even want to go down that road about them...I am their owner now, so I am taking full responsibility for them from this point on. I trust they will be fine. it's just scary cause he is so tinyl and so fragile. thanks again!!!!!

| My vet told me everything was okay the two times I took my Milou for a checkup and vaccinations... both times i said he sounds like he is coughing up a hair ball and both time he checked his throat and said its all okay?!?! Now that I am reading this I got worried, should I ask for an Xray? He eats and plays and sleeps is a great little baby he will be 5 months on the 16th of March and he is adorable... he just does this one to 5 times a day! Any advice?

| Well, I can relate. We got Romeo from a breeder about a month ago and he started coughing after the first week.. Same thing, dry hacking cough, wretching also...just like our cats do when coughing up a hairball. We did have exrays and were told that Romeo does have minor trachea issues but that they were not serious and he should not have long term problems with it. Our vet did see that he had severe bronchitis in one lung and gave us the antibiotics. Romeo has been on them for 1 week with no change. He also gave us some broncho dialaters that do really help with the coughing. I will be going back to the breeder for partial refund as indicated in our contract because of the trachea issues. |

| i noticed kash hacking a couple times in the past couple days as well. but it's not at all consistent. it's probably like once or twice in a day that i'll hear him do this. i'm kind of worried that the bordatella shot gave him kennel cough. but the shot is not the "live" bacteria like the stuff they put in the nose... so i don't know if he can contract the illness. he has an appt at the vet this saturday for his rabies shot, so i'll have the vet check him then.

| Alph just got his Bordetella shot and then started doing it. He never did it before. Can he have gotten sick from the shot? I did also change his food to Blue Buffalo something or other and people mentioned allergies. ???

| Pete ( 3 yrs old) was diagnosed with an enlarged heart last year and put on antibiotics for a month. What is strange is that he began marking territory in the house at the same time (previously no problems) and has to wear a belly band now. He coughs (hairball type) very rarely but will eventually need medication full time for coughing per the vet. |

| Am wondering how the coughing progresses and how you know when to take the dog to the vet for medication? Pete has only coughed a few times in the past year after being diagnosed with an enlarged heart. The vet said she could hear an abnormal heart rhythm. |
