You also need to test for paralysis for the next two weeks. If her spinal injury gets worse, then she can become paralyzed. Take a paper clip and straighten it out. Gently press one end to the pads of each back foot. She should respond, if she does not, then you must get her to a vet ASAP. Do this several times a day. I'm surprised that your vet did not recommend crating her for the next two weeks, in order to help prevent further damage to her spinal cord. You might want to consider it. You can never be too careful when it comes to spinal injuries.

Thanks, I will check sensitivity. My vet did say to crate her if I could not assure that she would not run or jump. He said to keep her on a leash when she went outside to potty.

Oh no, I hope she is ok and it isnt anything permanant. I remember when Louie tweaked his back last yeat and the steroids helped alot and he was back to his normal self within a day or two but he wasnt as bad as it sounds like Genie's is. I hope the anti-inflammatories help her.
