| VERY Bloody Stool HELP!! Our Davie started feeling poorly the night before last. She threw up a few times, and then was very sluggish. Thursday I thought she was better, she was running around, jumping on the sofa, just the regular stuff, but I put her in her bed tonight, and when I got up to check on her about an hour later, she had blood all over her bed. I am not talking a little spot...her whole bed was covered. I did collect some of it in a plastic bag and am going to take it to the vet as soon as it opens. Is there anything I should do between now and then? I am really worried about this. Is there anyhting else I should do?

| Good News!! I took Davie to the vet first thing this morning, with fecal samples in a plastic bag...yuck!! They did the test on the poop and it is not anything bad...all the vet asked is if she got into or ate anything different lately. Well, Granddaughter and Hubby made a chocolate cake the day before this all started, and even though we didn't see Novalee "share" her cake, we think that the chocolate is the reason Davie got a tummy ache. The vet took her off all food and only on water, ice chips, and "pedilite" (I know that is not spelled correctly) for 24 hours. Davie is her old self, but just a little lighter as she did lose about 1/4 of a pound, which doesn't sound like much but when you are only 5 pounds it's 1/20 of your weight!! She still has loose stool, and will be watched closely for the next few days until she gets all better. Thanks to all that were praying and helped with this matter. I will keep you posted on Davie's condition for a few days.

| please check the list of things not allowed for dogs, and pass that word on to friends and family so they won't be tempted to just give puppy something that they can't eat, know chocolate is a big no no on the list.. glad things worked out okay for your pup!! it's scarey when their sick...
