| i went through something the same with max i took him to the vet they ran a bile acid test he had an ultura sound done my vet thought that he had a liver shunt due to the fact that his tests came back very very high when he went to the specialist they said there was no shunt or if there was one they could not detect it they put him on a low protine diet and a few weeks later he got another test done the results were lower and the third time he got them done they were even lower there still not normal but well just have to see .He is only 1 year old all this happenend when he was a lil pup |

| Babymax, it may not be a liver shunt, but what you are describing sounds like it could be MVD...If his numbers are not normal after 3 repeats but have gone down with low protein food, he may have hepatic microvascular dysplasia.
