Make sure your furbaby gets enough liquid. You can get some in him by giving him ice cubes. Also, let his tummy rest for a bit, then try making a little lean chicken and rice. They can get sick from eating too much fat at a time. What does he usually get to eat? Is there any chance he got a heavy dose of fat from anything, or that he got into anything he shouldn't?

Thank you so much for your quick reply. My yorkie eats that NATURAL RECIPE dog food and nothing else. I do not allow him to nibble on table scraps or anything. Do you think he could have eaten a bug? Or just maybe have a little nausea?

Pancreatitis-"My little girl is very sick" Last Wed or Thursday my 3 year old- ate a grasshopper-1inch to 1 1/2 inches long-she got an upset tummy-vomited. I kept her quite for the weekend and fed her some Nature's Recipe-(she normally eats r/d-which is low fat). She vomited all that up and couldn't keep even water down. I took her into the Vet's on Monday am and her blood work was horrible. She stayed there on IV's for the day and the next 4 days she went back for more fluids. Today she's there again-Sat 7-21-2007 because her electrolytes are still low. She eating chicken and rice-small amounts and drinking water-small amounts-feeling better I think. What can I expect when she comes home? I keep reading about all the terrible things that she can develop now and I'm worried. I'm glad I found this site. Thanks for any suggestions, KathleenM

Sassy is home-doing much better Hi Everyone, Today is Saturday 7-21-07 and what a week this has been. Sassy is home and feeling much better, but has to return Monday to see how her blood-liver is doing. I sure have learned much more than I planned on, so from now on no more hunting for bugs. Have a nice weekend. Kathleen
