Rosi and Apollo started having simular skin problems, Apollo was scratching himself bloody, Vet gave me Gentocin Spray and told me if i need to give him Benadryl. Rosi started last week and i am spraying her with the Gentocin also. Rosi had a similar spot like that also last summer. Think they are getting bit by something outside as we are allot outside in the grass. Playing the guessing game right now...:rolleyes:

I've never seen anything like that before, but it sounds like there are a lot of good ideas on here. I hope your baby gets better soon!

great link just read and going with a home cooked diet i think at this point - also going to give her dds plus from lassens started today which i acidopholus, biffidus - good bacteria to kill bad bacteria in her gut as working with nutritious donia sea

I used the gentocin spray when a spot popped up on my Oliver. He lost hair in the spot but he didn't scratch it. It did pretty well for him. I wish you luck with little Dee Dee, she must be miserable, and you must be so frustrated!

It could be. Chachis skin got very red like that. If it s mange it will spread to other areas. Your vet can check for it by doing a skin scrape.

it doesn't ever spread just gets inflamed then i put neosporine and sock and by next day completely gone :(

Damnn!! that does look painful and irritating, poor baby!!

I hope she gets better soon!! I know how frustrating it is for you, especially, hope you guys overcome this issue!! Sending out prayers!

After thinking about this baby and I hope he's doing better, I would concur with diet. Build his body up. Keep preservatives out~

Has anyone told you it could be atopic dermatitis? There is no rhyme or reason as to why it happens. Something in the air. I have had this for years and it almost looks and sounds the same.

I would look into building up his immune system, and avoid any kind of cortisone shots or salve. It can create a bigger problem than you have already.

i started probiotics - dds plus from lassens 30 min prior to food - acidopholus, biffidus and fos. I am looking into home cooked diet. She has mvd liver issue too and yes it is atopic dermatitis i think i have ruled that is the issue - she is on atopica and temaril p but trying to work with enzymes, probiotics and home cooked diet to see if i can control it through strengthening immune system. She had some black skin on one leg and since probiotics hair grew back and skin not as black so i can see it is working

Our Me-Me has bed allergies. She does this to herself if I don't keep a little dress on her and wrap her front paws with gauze at night. She got her one year rabie shot yesterday and now her skin is flaking off in places from the fever she had. She is on hydroxyzine twice a day and allergy shots every 20 days. The steriod spray didn't work for her as the shampoo didn't either.
Me-Me is allergic to mold and HUMAN.

i am now working with natural methods as well and it is working. I give dd probiotic - dds plus 30 minutes before food, then i give her 1/4 tsp of raw coconut-http://www.qualityfirst.on.ca/CVO.htm a day - 50 times vitamin e in this so good for skin

I am going to do 1/4 tsp of hemp oil as it is anti-inflammatory http://www.onlynaturalpet.com/produc...55000.aspxonce she has been on coconut oil for two weeks. I am doing baby steps. She is on atopica and temaril p -- look into atopica as better than steroids - dd is on 20mg per day and she is 6lbs and temaril p every 3 days. She wears a tshirt and a sock around her neck. I am also going to home cook. Juiced zuccini and celery is good for cleansing as well. The nutritionist i work with now says food is your best medicine - if the body is healthy then you do not have these problems. after two years of seeing the more medicine the worse she gets- losing hair, redness, bacteria infections, etc i am open to try a more natural diet.
