| Raspy cough?? Meeka...my Pom has a really raspy cough...like she is trying to hock something up, no fever, no runny stool...just the cough. If I had to describe it ...like when a human has bronchitis, they cough hard and raspy. The vet is closed, and won't be open till Mon. I don't think it is serious, cuz she is onry as ever, but when she really gets to playing or barking it starts, like a childs does. Is there anything I can give her over the counter???

| I don't have any advice re: meds, but I'm sure someone on here knows what to do. My dog does what I've heard described as a reverse sneeze. Sometimes she goes on for what seems like forever to me but I'm sure it's just a few seconds. I've heard that maybe they have mucous in their throat and instead of sneezing it out they kind of suck air back in...does that make sense? I'm pretty new here so I did a search for reverse sneeze when she did it the first time, I saw a post a while back that actually had a video attached & a link to other videos so you could hear what it sounded like. If it's the reverse sneeze you won't need to worry. Hope it's something like this instead of a cold. Poor baby. Sugar stops when I hold her and rub her throat & just love on her. Sometimes it's triggered by her getting excited. Good luck. I hope she's better soon if it is a cold.

| Maybe she's got a little asthma? I guess dogs can get it too. Or maybe there's some new pollens or dust in the air and she's got an allergy. I think if she's eating, playing and eliminating normally, I'd just watch her breathing and if she starts doing it again, try to calm her down so she doesn't have these episodes. Then take her into the vet on Monday or as soon as you can. My $.02 worth
