| ![]() Hi all. It has been a week since her trauma and she still isn't acting right. I would say she lays around 95% of the day. I have to pick her up and take her to the food bowl where she will eat a little. Now instead of slowly walking back to my closet (where she has chosen to stay now) she runs. Not sure if that is a good sign or not. She will go outside if I take her for about 10 minutes at a time. But if she doesn't want to be outside she will run back into the house through the doggie door and right back to the closet. Last night about 11:30 she woke me up crying from her kennel. I jumped up and went to the kennel and she was scratching and crying like crazy. I took her out and took her outside. She sat at my feet and cried. So we came back inside as I thought she might me hungry. Well she ran to my bedroom and couldn't get in the closet cause I had the bathroom door shut. So she just sat there and looked at me whining. I put her in bed with me and she whined and shook for about 20 minutes then fell asleep. At 3:30 am she woke me whining again. I took her outside again and she just whined. We came back in and she went to her kennel this time. This morning when she woke up she went straight to my closet. ![]() I am baffled. I don't understand why she is still so scared. I did get her to eat a bit this morning and she stayed outside for 10-15 minutes. When she came in I fixed her hair and she went straight to my closet. ![]()

| ![]() I called the vet and asked them about the circullation and they said that by now since it has been over a week since she was recast we would know for sure about that. So that can't be the problem. She was recasted last Thursday and she went to the vet on Sunday and again on Monday and they would have seen that something was wrong. Good question though cause when you said that I thought "That's got to be it!" But apparently not.

| ![]() Maybe she's just scared of what happened to her while she was missing? I only say that b/c Max will run and sort of hide in the bedroom if he's afraid of something, so that's why I mention it. And she probably doesn't feel good just having the cast on her leg. I think that's how a lot of animals act when they are in discomfort or don't feel good. I imagine that your vet already palpated her all over to make sure that she didnt' have any internal problems that might be felt? These little babies are so sensitive, maybe she's still afraid from being lost. I sure hope she's feeling better soon. It's awful when their eyes aren't their normal shiny, happy eyes! I'll keep you both in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us updated on her!

| ![]() OK well they did take the cast off. She said her bone has healed great! The only thing she is worried about is that her skin on her leg and paw is very raw. So that is probably why she has been just laying around. They took the cast off and cleaned up her leg real good and put some ointment on it and wrapped it back up (not in a cast but wrapped it up). She said that if her skin wasn't so bad she would leave that cast on for another week but she thinks it will be fine. She goes back tomorrow so they can check her leg again and decide to rewrap it or what. She is acting ALMOST back to normal. So I do think her raw skin is what was bothering her. I am still giving her antibiotics and pain meds. She seems to be happy today so I am HAPPY WITH THAT. ![]()

| ![]() Hi! I've been following Izzie's story and wondered how she's doing after a few days without the cast. Is she feeling better? I got to wondering about her last night, hoping that she is doing well. Bless her heart! She's been through a ![]() |

| ![]() Oh thank you for asking. I was actually about to post an update when I saw your post. ![]() So here it is. On Thursday the 12th she went in for a rewrap. Because the skin is all irritated and what not. Then again on Saturday she went in for another wrap. Then again Monday and now again Today Wednesday. When I took her in on Monday the vet told me that on the side of her paw (left and right sides) that she is really irritated and oozy (it is not infected though). Her small nail on her paw was just hanging so they clipped it off. They are not sure yet if it will grow back. She is optimistic and says it just depends on how it heals. So today she went back for the rewrap after the nail being taken off and they said it looked much better. Still oozy but looking much better. So I keep her on the antibiotics and pain meds as needed. She goes back again on Saturday for another rewrap and such. Each time they rewrap they clean it up and soak it or something and they put ointment on it. She is putting weight on it and is actually starting to use it a little. Which I kinda think is good cause she is exercising it easily instead of just being thrown her leg back. I will give you all a new update on Saturday after the vet. She is getting her little cute personality back which I am extremely greatful for. She is the sweetest thing I have ever seen. Thank you all for all your prayers and well wishes. I really appreciate it and I don't know what I would do without all of you.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | ![]() That's great to hear she is doing so well. Her little misadventure just put her out of sorts and the fact that she was already injured didn't help. Now you can put it out of your mind! ![]() |

| ![]() I'm so happy to hear that your baby is doing better. If you don't mind me asking, how did she hurt her leg? I am always so worried if I catch my little guy jumping off of the couch (it's rather high) because I am worried that he is going to break a leg.

| ![]() Well she jumps off the couch all the time and even when she had her cast on it didn't slow her down at all. She broke her leg when my five year old stepped on her. He was playing with my other yorkie (who is much much bigger than Izzy). She was in the bed with me while I was reading. They were playing in the hall outside the bedroom and she could hear them. She wanted down. So I let her down and at the same time my son cam running around the corner and stepped on her. He still feels horrible. When I told him about her nail he was still saying I am so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt her. So he knows what he did and he feels bad. I think he will be more careful now.
