| TEDE_BARE what to feed how much???? As in my other thread tede my have pancreatitis. the word not in yet... he is hungry... I am just doing small bites chicken boiled rice.. hes happy and the vet said feed till he is full.... but I know if I fill him up he gets the thing where he almost up-chucks.so I have been grazing him. he ate at 6 last night had good night sleep. I gave him may 2 tablespoons and he wanted more. so what I have been doing is waiting a hour to see if he is still hungry. ALSO the meds.mirtazapine when I read about it, it says will make dog hungry. Any HELp would be helpful..... |

| I'd give him a few spoonfulls every couple of hours, since he's recovering, he needs the nutrition Then gradually work back to his regular feeding schedule. I hope he's all better soon!!!!

| thats what I think too Thanks I think i did not know enough when i got the little guy. You just dont know all of there problems. I read a few books, but if any one who gets a yorkie would come to this site BRFORE they get a baby, we could of learn soooo much from others experience and not made as many mistakes. I thought buying the best treats and food was the best thing. I knew from the start it was different from all my labs. It is nice people share it helps alot |

| I know what you mean, I'd have never made it through the death of my Starr, or the rearing of two new pups, without all the kindhearted and smart folks here

is yours lethargic as dexter was real lethargic too I would look for an internal medicine doctor not a vet at this point so yours does not relapse or get worse because dexter seemed good for 5 days then it came back with a vengeance and pancreatitis can be deadly - read my posts as i talk alot about it - very costly if you do not kick it the first time | |

| Pancreatits never again give your dog treats only give low fat diet for rest of life and use kibble as treats as once pancreas has been damaged it is an underlying thing that is why so important to not do treats as most vets against treats as too high in sodium, fat and protein oops spelled pancreatitis wrong sorry Last edited by dwerten; 06-24-2007 at 09:24 AM. |

| thanks from tede Yes we have a internist. he has been seeing her for a month before this. we thought it was bowel. so now we are waiting on test. she said I could give no fat cottage cheese and no fat cream cheese . I have used the cottage with mashed up rice all sticky to give meds. works great. these day I am seeing which battle i want to fight with him. Hes biting after so many dr. visits What food are you on for the pancreas. |
