| Hello everyone! thanks for your messages. Well, today i went to see bobby i got to see him for about an hour. he's still on his iv, he's a little more happy. When he saw me he was moving his little tail and seem happy to see me as soon as i grab he was giving me kisses which made me very happy. He vomit only once today around six in the morning, i think yesterday he didnt vomit. he's still not eating anything they have to force it in. today they try to give him chicken but he doesnt eat it on his own. well, the specialist thinks that he might have LEPTOSPIROSIS we are supposed to get the results tomorrow or friday. Well, as of now bobby is stable condition he's a little better and i hope he gets even better the vet did mention that i might get to take him home with me friday, but that bobby will have to be on medication for a couple weeks. Well, everyone thanks for the support.. |

| Thanks for the update on little Bobby...I do hope they find what's wrong with him so they know how to treat it...Don't know much about Leptospirosis, other then it's a bacterial infection...I assume they have tested for this and have him on antibiotic treatment. Get well soon Bobby, we're all rooting for you!!!

| HI EVERYONE! I HAVE GOOD NEWS! BOBBY WAS RELEASE TODAY FROM THE SPECIALIST CLINIC. IT FEELS SO GOOD TO FINALLY HAVE HIM AT HOME. WELL, AFTER A WEEK AND TWO DAYS IT WAS ABOUT TIME HE CAME BACK TO HIS MOMMY .... REMEMBER I MENTION THAT THE VET TOLD ME THAT HE MIGHT HAVE "LEPO" WELL THEY DID MORE TEST AND ALL THE TEST ARE NEGATIVE, SO HE DIDNT NOT HAVE IT AFTER ALL.TODAY WHEN BOBBY WAS RELEASE THE DIAGNOSIS WAS " ACUTE RENAL FAILURE" WHICH IT WILL GO AWAY WITH MEDICATION. I TRY TO FEED HIM SMALL AMOUNT OF CHICKEN AND WATER AND HE'S NOT EATING. HOPEFULLY HE'LL EAT TOMORROW. HE' HAS NOT DRINK WATER EITHER..I DID GIVE HIM SOME NUTRICAL. .. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING...I'LL KEEP YOU GUYS UPDATED... THANKS. |

| Get Well Soon Bobby!!! I'm happy he's home...but he's not eating or drinking...that's a bit scary. I would have hoped they'd have kept him long enough to be eating and drinking on his own without throwing up. Keep trying...what caused the acute renal failure, did they say...was it his food? Please continue to update for us, and we'll continue to pray for you and sweet Bobby...

| Hi Erica I just read up on this and when they are on fluids for a long period of time and come home they do not drink a whole lot as dexter had severe pancreatitis and i was so nervous as he did not drink a lot of water when he came home - keep an i on him though. Renal failure ? did he eat any grapes as that causes that ? Did they do the CPLI test to rule out pancreatitis as that is the true test to rule that out as dexter had the vomitting not diarhea and he went back to the hospital 3 times - he would be home for 5 days and then relapse.. Sometimes they cannot see pancreatitis on ultrasounds unless it is super inflamed. I hope bobby is home free but dexter could not be released from hospital until eating and drinking for two days so this concerns me him not eating more so than the drinking as those fluids fill them up . | Hello, I just came across this thread and I wanted to ad my info on here, My Bruizer came very ill after a day playing outside at my moms. He was the same wouldn't eat wouldnt drink and if I forced it he threw it up and threw up all day after that. I took him to 3 different vets and no one knew what it could be or how to help him. Finally my normal vet said Yorkies have sensitve tummys and if he ate something that didn't agree with him it could be causeing the problem, so he treated Bruizer with a shot of penicilin and then he sent him home with a antibiotic, and I gave him that for 10 days. About day 8 (two weeks after he first got sick) he finally ate something and was acting better, he was up trying to play and give me kisses but was still very weak, now his is normal, and never had a problem since, I am more watchfull when he is outside now to make sure he doesn't eat anything. I also heard that bird poo came cause that same thing to happen to dogs. Hope this helps and I hope by now Bobby is feeling better, I know how you feel hun. Good luck.

| also wanted to add Bruizer did not eat that entire time, I forced small amounts in him but that just made him throw up more. So one day i just stopped and by the next morning he was eating. I figured by me forcing it he was getting his belly upset again so if i let it have a rest maybe he would feel better. Try to keep nutrical down him though.....

| Vomitting Yes if vomitting I have been told to restrict food as the tummy needs time to heal and as long as they drink some water it is ok. I use ice cubes for them to lick as it keeps them dehydrated if not drinking enough water. |

| hi, everyone! well, first of all, i want to thank you guys for all the support, and interest in bobby. Bobby is doing very good, yesterday and today he's been eating on his own. He drinks a lot of water and he pees a lot. He still very skiny because he did not eat for over a week, hopefully he can gain some weight in the next couple of days. I'm giving him nutrical a couple times a day, just small amounts. Tomorrow Bobby has an appointment with the specialist to check everything again, just to make sure that things are doing good. He's having blood test done, and a ultrasound. I think everything is okay because he's actually walking around the house a lot.And guess what i finally heard him bark! i'm so happy.. I'll let you guys know about his appointment tomorrow..Thank You! |
