| This has happened to Otis a time or two. It's scary but his usually passed in 3-4 days. I'm with the others as far as colitis, or worms, and if it doesn't seem to get better, check for giardia (sp?) Have hubby be careful with the anal glands as his little bum is probably sore already. It may be even more uncomfortable for him than usual. Hope he's feeling better soon!

| I guess I am a little late on this one. Sorry. But whenever Babybear gets those jelly like poops I get worried and call the vets they have had me give him a 1/4 tablet of pepcid AC 10 mg twice a day. If it doesn't heal up within three or four days to make an appointment. Hope this helps a little for next time. I would ask my vet first before giving any medicine though.

| bland diet I am really sorry to hear about your pup. I had a similar situation with Fiona, I think that she ate part of her bone and it irritated her bowels. She was still eating/drinking/and playing as well. I gave her for 1 week, boiled ground meat and rice. It seemed to really help her stools. She was having frequent loose mucousy stools that looked blood tinged. She also was pooping in the house, and she is trained and NEVER does that either. My heart goes out to you and your pup, it is very frustrating, try the bland diet.... Ona122438 |
