| Are you kidding me? That's just cruel!!!! The pain meds they gave me today make him sleepy, so he wont be rambuncious.

| Rimadyl is a pain medicine, it's also an anti-inflammatory med just like naprosen or ibuprofen or torredal is for humans. Hope your baby is feeling better soon.

Update: My vet was closed last night, so I called the emergency vet that they recommend. They said I shouldn't give him the baby aspirin so soon after surgery as it would thin his blood. Another member PM'ed me saying I could also use children's benadryl to help him sleep, and the emergency vet said that would be fine to hold him until the morning. After I gave it to him, he didn't seem to be in much pain. I did get in touch with my vet first thing this morning, and he gave me Butorphanol in syrup to use in conjunction with the Rimadyl. He said since he's an adult dog (he'll be a year old on Sunday) that it's harder for him to bounce back than a 6 month old puppy. But, the Butorphanol is working really well and he doesn't seem to be in any pain anymore. He's been my little snuggle bum all day today. He looks so cute next to me in his little onesie. That's another thing... I felt horrible having that cone collar on him last night. He wouldn't even move with it on. So I got a premie onsie and put it on him so at least he can be comfy but can't lick! I attached a couple pics of him from just a couple minutes ago. He looks out of it from the meds, but I still think he looks cute.
