| Breathing Problems Hi all, I just noticed today that my dog breathes really hard and I dont know whether or not he may have asthma.. How do I tell if my dog has asthma? Seems like he's outta breath whenever he plays fetch... Has any of your dogs experience this before? Thanks |

| I've not experienced this. How old is your pup? Has your vet checked him recently? Maybe an Upper Respritory Infection. Hope you get some answers.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Is it wheezing or just heavy breathing? How old is he? Does he fetch until he just has to lay down like he's just totally out of breath? Or does he keep going? My dogs, breathe hard and pant while fetching bc they're essentially sprinting at full capacity.

| That is the reason I came onto this forum, to ask about breathing problems. My yorkie breathes really fast and appears to be out of breath all the time, often choking and retching as if he is going to be sick. Can anyone explain this?? |

| I really hope I am wrong but when Gus started that it was the beginning of congestive heart failure. (we were honored to have had him with us for another year after diagnosis thanks to his medication) Please see a vet. |
