| tail biting. i just got a puppy and his first week with me he was fine then his second week he started biting his tail/butt.. i dont know if he's just chasing it or if it is itching. people have told me its the dry air and he has to get used to it or if he's allergic to his antibiotics [which ive stopped giving to him already]. i dont know what to do. the vet has just told me its because of the desert weather but i feel so bad. he doesnt play anymore or run arround at all. he cant even sleep at night he's too busy biting his tail and even cries because of it. i dont know what to do already. ive stopped giving him his antibiotics ive tried oatmeal shampoo. i dont know. please help. |

| Has the vet checked his anal sac?? If it is that, the vet can show you how to"squeeze" out the contents yourself. I do that for my girl everytime I bathe her and she has stopped that rear end biting. |

| Would running a humidifier help? We had a really dry winter and I ran my humidifier and it seemed to help with my little one's cough and dry skin. Just a thought.

| just got back from the vet and he himself wasnt sure what was causing the itch. but he was certain that its gotten infected. and his cure was to keep him from scratching it and put some cream on it. now my poor baby has to wear a lamp shade.. oh well, just as long as he gets better. i swear, i think i've been sold a "bad" puppy. since ive brought him home he's had a parasite and kennel cough now an infection. all in just two weeks. oh dear, i love him anyway. |
