| Roxee's scary eye problems Hi all! I am a little new to this forum! I have been researching on this site for many, many, many months, but now I need to speak to all of the nice people on this site. I received my little furbaby as a wedding gift in July. My little Roxee is an absolute delight. On Tuesday, I brought her in to be groomed. She came home acting totally normal, playing, jumping, running, giving the sweet little kisses, the works. On Wednesday morning, Roxee woke up with quite a bit of goo on and around her eye. I cleaned her up with warm compresses. Later in the day she began to have more goo in and around her left eye. SHe then began to squint. I got really nervous and called the vet. My vet had a surgery day scheduled for today, but he said bring her in, I will see her between or before I start surgeries. My heart almost broke because I would have to leave her alone at the vet's office. Before I made it home the vet's office called to let me know that he was in with her right then. The vet called me himself about an hour later to let me know that he had stained her eye and checked her really well. He said that she had no damage to the cornea or anything in the eye, but he did find a tiny sty on her lower lid. She will be treated with antibiotics, ointment, and some anti-inflammation meds. He also said that Roxee had several baby teeth left in her mouth that could be pulled if I would like. So, baby Roxee is having her teeth pulled out too! I will be going to pick her up this afternoon at 4. I can't wait to snuggle with her. My thanks to all of you on this site who are so helpful and knowledgeable. I researched to see what I thought was wrong with her and so many of you were helpful, without knowing it. I thank you all so very much. Thank you again, Thea and Roxee |

| Hi Thea, I'm from Louisiana too! A little town called Many, south of Shreveport very near the TX border. We've had eye problems this week too. My little TJ, 6 mos., apparently stuck something in his eye. We got antibiotic shot, pills to take, drops and an oinment for his eye. This was Mon. afternoon, had a recheck today after his grooming and vet says he looks much better. Its a real trick getting the drops and oinment in the eye though! Thanks to a suggestion here, I wrap him in a blanket when I'm by myself. Hubby helps morning and night doses. Again, welcome, and where are you?? Linda |

| Welcome to YT. I don't know how old your dog is, but baby teeth come out at different ages. If she still had baby teeth at around 8 or 9 months, then I'd say they would need pulled. Anyway, I'm sure she will do just fine and will be home snuggleing with you real soon. |

| Hi and welcome. I have a Roxy, too. I'm glad the vet found the sty before it got any worse and caused Roxee any more discomfort, bless her little heart. Can't wait to see some pics.

| Roxee's feeling better!! Hi all! Roxee came back from the vet last night and is feeling fine. She was a little slow at first, but not for long! She saw her food bowl and ate and ate and ate. She played with her toys, but was very sleepy last night. It is amazing what some vets can do! Her eye looks so much better. I am having a little trouble putting the ointment in her eye, but thanks to the suggestion of wrapping her in a towel or blanket. It works:thumbup: She did get plenty of hugs and kisses last night. Thank you again for all of your well wishes. You guys are great!:) Thanks, Thea and Roxee:animal-pa |

I am sorry to hear about your little TJ. Hope that he is feeling better. I am so excited that you are from Louisiana too. I live in a small town right south of New Orleans, called Bourg. I am sure that you have never heard of it (Not real big). Keep me posted on little TJ---I'll have to figure out how to post pics today. Thea | |
