| Our baby got poop stuck on her hair one night and couldn't get the rest of the poop out, so I was freaking and almost took her to the ER. She tried and tried and I didn't know what to do. But I managed to work the poop loose by breaking pieces off and she finished going and everything was fine again. It turns out the hair was keeping her from getting it all the way out and she had to strain to try to push it out of the hair. My guess is that the hair around your boy's butt needs to be shaved. We first cut our girl's butt hair short with one of those blunt end scissors (we had a blunt end baby nail scissor that we used) you can get for cutting their eyebrows at the pet store. But once she was groomed, the groomer shaved her butt hair all off and she hasn't had a problem since. We just check it every week or so and cut the hair that is growing. My husband has a beard shaver that we use to shave it off and she lets us if we do it right. We have to get her on her back while we are rubbing her tummy. Then my husband keeps rubbing her tummy and I shave the hair under her tail and between her legs. She doesn't care because she's getting a tummy rub. You might try shaving that area and see if that cures your baby's constipation. If it continues, try feeding him some honey-nut cheerios for fiber and some apple. Both of those get our baby girl unstuck when she's constipated. Last edited by Sweetums; 04-11-2007 at 09:26 PM. |
