| HELP! Cody had a reaction to his Vaccine!!! I just brought Cody in for his 3rd round of shots. They also gave him his 2nd kennel cough. I brought him home, he ate, then a few minutes later, he threw up. I immediately called the vet and they said to bring him back. Right after I hung up the phone, his face started swelling up really really bad. Almost like he was stung with bees!! I feel so bad I brought him back to the vet and they gave him an antibiotic shot and a steroid shot. I hope he will be ok. I have to bring him back to the vet in 30 minutes to make sure he is progressing. Anyone have any similar problems. Please keep Cody in your prayers. |

| I have not had this reaction, but I know others who have. If he got more than one vaccine it is difficult to know what he reacted to. But for future shots, the vet should probably give him an anti-inflammatory first. Hugs going out to little Cody!!!

| Well Cody seems to be doing better, a lot of the swelling has gone down so hopefully he will be fine. I just have the watch him all day. Poor little guy. I feel so bad for him. He is really sore now from getting all the shots. |

| My 15 year old Chihuahua did the exact same thing when she was a puppy. In fact, she also had convulsions. She's never had any shots since then. I have instead a letter from the Vet. stating she cannot tolerate the medication. I also know of another person who's dog did the same thing. They continue getting the yearly shots but the dog gets a benadryl shot about 30 minutes before a DHLPP+CV booster and RABIES VACCINE. I had elected not to have any further medications. She's been just fine and healthy without shots anyway for the past 14 years. My Yorkies got their puppy shots, but no yearly boosters. I will have the titer test run when they are around 5 or 6 to see if they are still protected. http://www.wholisticanimal.com/petvaccinations.html http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/front/1377004 |

| Poor baby! Shots are bad enough, but shots for the shots. Aargh! Good luck, and I hope he keeps feeling better.

| Poor baby! Sorry that he had such a reaction. I hope he is feeling better. Gordon has felt bad and moped for all his shots ....he just had his rabies and finished all his shots and I'm glad it is over. He doesn't have to go for another year. (((Cody)))

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Glad he is doing better. I always worry when it's shot time. Pixie needs her Distemper and I am afraid to take her as I got her at 13 months and don't know how she reacted with puppy shots,

| Cody is all back to normal, thank God. I think he is still a little sore from all the shots but all the swelling is gone down and he is eating and drinking. YAY! |
