| Pups ate candle!!!!! Any advice? Today the cat knocked off a turtle shaped candle off the shelf, and the puppies got to it before I realized it. It looks like they chewed off candle wax about the size of 4-5 rice grains total. I don't know which dog are how much. Luckily, I noticed it relatively soon. (This incident happened 5 mins. ago, btw). They are rambunctious as usual, but I am worried. Is candle wax toxic? Has anyone's dog done this before? Any advice? What should I watch out for? Should I rush to the vet?

| Mine got into a package of tea light candles and ate a few of them and they were okay. If you are worried maybe call the vet but I think they will be fine if they only ate a tiny bit. |

| When we were young, halloween we used to get wax lips. After wearing them for awhile we would chew them up. I don't know if they were harmful, but I don't remember getting sick. What about crayons? It might depend if it was sented. Who knows whats in the different candles now. Can't hurt to talk to the vet and ask.

| Thanks so much for your reply. I am worried a bit, but I think I will watch them closely before I contact the vet. I tend to panic easily when it comes to our pets, so I am trying to be rational considering the small amount they ate. I am going to try to delay my panic until I see vomiting, lethargy or anything weird. I hope that won't happen though. I hope they will just have green poo and nothing else.

| I'm sure they will be okay. But I would still call the vet and monitor your puppies' behaviors to see if they start developing any symptoms. |

| Oh, the candle was green that's all. LOL. They are both doing fine. Thanks all for your concern.
