I am sooooo sorry to hear Jewelina is not feeling well. I too am doing the up all night thing with Sophie. I get up every hour to hour/half to give her food to keep her blood sugar stable.

Hopefully Jewelina will pull through soon so momma can quit worrying and get some sleep. I will keep her and you in my thoughts.

Aw, thank you girl! I had no idea about Sophie! Poor baby! I am so sorry to hear that! When I got Jewelina she was very tiny and I thought I'd have problems with hypoglycemia with her but I never did. She would sleep all through the night and to this day I've never had a hypoglycemic episode with her. Normally she is a little pig and just gobbles up all of her food.
Today wasn't like that though...

My boy was sick last week with some kind of bug and had to go on antibiotics. He was acting similar to her, not wanting to eat and having tummy problems and I was so worried about him and he's a petite 4 pounds! Jewelina is about 1/3 the size of Jaden

I was up all night with Jaden the week before and now I'm going to be up all night with Jewelina. I don't mind getting up, I probably couldn't sleep if I tried anyway

I just want my baby well

Joy - I'm so sorry Jewelina isn't feeling well. It's so hard when they're so tiny and sick and losing weight!! I know she is eating Candidea, but you might want to try some yogurt in the morning. My girls lap it right up. I use Stoneyfield Organic. It is the only one I know of that has 6 live, active cultures and is really good for their tummies. Angel gets this in the morning (as does Sissy). She is about 3 lbs now, but she only gets about a heaping tbsp.

I hope you have an uneventful night and she is her perky little self again tomorrow. Sissy and Angel send air kisses (cause their real kisses might be full if Giardia - ick) to your babies!!

Thank you Jodie! I know, her weight loss was suprising to me, I hadn't really noticed her being any lighter but she's as light as a feather to start with so it is hard to tell. I am hoping her weight loss is just fluids and she'll pop back up on the weight charts as soon as she starts drinking and eating normally. There is an organic 24hr health food store about 20 minutes from here that carriers Stoneyfield Organic. A friend of mine works there and they and his shift is just ending now. I'm going to give him a call and have him bring me a cup of that! I will definetly give some to Jewelina in the morning and I'll offer her a little tonight as well!

I hope Angel and Sissy are doing ok with the whole Giardie mess! A friend of mine about 2 hours away from her, her Maltese has Giardia and she just had puppies so she said it is a BIG mess! I feel for you and I will be keeping them in my prayers as well!

Oh no! I'm so sorry that Jewelina is sick. What is it with these babies getting sick lately, something probably is going around. Just be sure to give her nutrical if she doesn't eat and plenty of water with maybe some pedialyte. I hope she feels better

I will be praying for her.

Thank you girl! 4 ounces is a lot, most people think that's nothing but when we've struggled for so long jsut go gain half ounces it is a lot

OMG Joy! I am soo sorry. Thanks to the stupid computer I've been working on I didn't see this until just now. I hope Jewelina gets better really soon! Like Linda, my girls have done that before (a long time ago) when they haven't had enough to eat or are hungry. But, my Doxie girls are 11-13 lbs depending on the day, so it's not that big of a deal for them. With her being sooo small I know it's just wrecking havoc on her little body. I hope it is something minor and she will get over it soon. Please keep me posted on how she does! I'm so worried for her........

Thanks girl! I know, what is all of this all the sudden? First Jaden was sick, then London and now Jewelina! Seems like everyone's babies are coming down with something

Thank you for your prayers and I have that nutrical right beside me so if she decides not to eat she will most definetly be getting some! I'm going to boil some more rice and chicken now and mix in a little scrambled egg and see if she'll eat any of that.

Thank you Courtney! Your words mean so much! I have been worried like crazy about her! I don't know if her tummy was just upset from not eating a lot or if it is something Jaden had that he passed on to her

She normally doesn't eat a lot in the mornings though and is ok so I am thinking it is more than likely the same thing Jaden had. It about broke my heart when she was vomitting. I wanted to cry, her little body almost tips over when she does because it takes so much out of her and I was just holding her and there was nothing I could do

She hasn't vomitted since we've been back from the vet though so that is an answered prayer! I pray tonight goes well and she will eat a little more and not vomit! I'm trying not to push too much food on her all at once because I don't want it to upset her tummy.

I'm sorry to hear that Jewelina is not well

I hope and pray that she gets better really fast

If she won't eat, you may have to force feed her with that syringe. It's so important that these tiny little beasts eat, even when they're sick. Put some of the chicken and rice in a blender or food processor with a little water and/or plain yogurt, if you have to force feed. I hope you don't have to, it's sucky, but it's better than the alternative.
