| How long before labor starts? It is 58 day of pregnancy. Since Sunday I am taking the temperature and today it raised to 101.4. I know the labor should begin within 24 hours of temperature drop but can I estimate when it will happen so I can take off from work and stay home. I suspect it will be in next couple days. Can you share your experience with me? |

| Here is a copy of my Emilee's temp chart. I found it a little easier than just writing the temps down. My guess (if Emilee's temp stays down) she'll go within the next 24-36 hours. Hope this helps...

| Thanks for the chart. How is Emilee doing? We are still taking the temp morning and night. Day 60 and she is still not showing any signs of preparation for whelping. Her eyes just tell me that she is sad. She is a very active dog, jumping everywhere just like her daddy. Loves to play but in last few days she really slowed down. She just comes to me for a scratch since her big tummy get in the way. I massage her and give all the love I have. |

| Emlee's temp spiked last night at over a hundred (can't remember off the top of my head) but this morning dropped to 98.9. She was pacing a lot this morning and then I heard her crying in the hallway....she wanted in where her birthing area and whelping box are. She started nesting like crazy and then tried lying down, but couldn't get comfortable. I took the rest of today and tomorrow off work. No heavy panting yet, but she is so ready, poor thing. Once she starts labor and delivering babies, I won't be back on till we're all done. She likes having me sit right next to her and her whelping box, so I won't leave her.
