My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Brodie threw up 2 times and had bloodin his poo This morning when he got up, he had threw up in his kennel.....it was solid food throw up. Then he went outside and went potty and his poo had some blood in it. He was alittle blah, but still active. I went home to check on him at lunch and he had thrown up again , yellow liquid, and went out side and went potty and again his poo had some blood in it. It was soft. I brought him in and gave him some pepto, some nutrical, and some soft can puppy food. He seemed ok , barking at the other dogs, but not 100%. Sunday he had gotten into the hard puppy food ( royal canin ) , me and hubby had given him some breakfast sausage, and the only other thing I can think of was I bought a different cat litter and I think he may have gotten into that. It was made of corn. Anyone else experience this? The poo has a normal poo odor, there is no jelly substance, which would indicate coccidia. plus even coccidia there is a certain odor and its just a regular poo odor. | Windsor was sick last week too, blood in his stool once and diareah. The vet said it was just a viral type thing but he was running a little fever and was dehydrated so they gave him fluids and antibiotics as well as something for diareah. He is great now, acting more like a puppy than he has in a long time. Anyway it may not be serious but you may want to get him checked, run your finger along the gum line above his teeth if this is dry he may need fluids too. Good luck

No Longer a Member | Hun, do not give your dog sausage. I learned the hard way about things with grease in it and Gizmo will pay for it for ever probably. Your little man needs to see his vet. I doubt it was any of the other things you listed, good luck and I will be thinging about you both. Please keep us updated. |

| The sausage is the most likely culprit here. Pancreatis is nothing to fool around with. Please make sure that he cannot get into any more greasy fare I hope he's all better now

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I stopped giving the girls any people food except hamburger and chicken with the grease thouroghly drained off and they are much better. All 3 were having bouts of throwing up and bloody diahrrea. Bacon made one of mine sick for a couple of days once, so I would think the sausage may be the problem. Hipe Brodie is feeling better soon.

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Thanks everyone Tonight he had one bowel movement with some blood. Its not diareha, but soft. He's acting normal, his nose is wet, and he's interested in food. I've made him up a batch of boiled hamburger and white rice to give him before bed. He's doing his normal barking, growling and playing. I'm going to see how he is tomorrow and if he's still doing it he'll be going to the vet. I'm thinking its something he ate. I forogt he also had a couple chili cheese fritos last night too. And he just had some more nutri-cal. |

| Most Yorkies have a very delicate intestinal track and can actually poop just puddles of blood if they eat certain things. Never feed greasy or spicy foods to a Yorkie, or any dog for that matter. When they pass blood after eating things they shouldn't, then the best thing to do is give them only water and broth for a day or so till the intestinal track heals. If you see more blood, then my suggestion is to have him checked out. |

| Hope little Brodie is better today. Toto did that once and it was an intestinal inflammation. After a few days of Flagyl and she was fne. Please let us know how he is.
