Please pray for Maddie! I took a late shower this morn and when I came upstairs, there is, what I think, puke everywhere with lots of blood in it. I thought at first it was probably diarrhea because instead of just spots here and there, the spots trail from the main spot, but I am pretty sure it is vomit. There are blood drops all around in several of the rooms. My gosh, what could it be? Maddie is just lying around, looking sad. There was so much vomit and how could she vomit so much when she hadn't even eaten this morn. I almost wonder if she has a blockage. I am taking her to the vet at 1:30, but my vet isn't in. If she needs surgery, I don't I only trust my vet to do that. I don't think highly of the other vets. I'm so scared. I got some of the stuff in a jar in case they need to test it. Please pray for my little sweetheart! I need to go clean some more...I think the bedroom carpet may be ruined. It's coming up pretty well from the other carpets. |
Oh gosh,i am so sorry your baby is sick.I will pray real hard for you and her! |
Oh connie!! i am soo sorry!! i am going to pray lots for little maddie!! good idea to take a little in a jar!! maybe she ate something off the floor. lots of prayers and hugs for you and your little girl!!!! |
Connie I am so sorry to hear about Maddie. Hopefully what ever it is won't require any kind of surgery. About your bedroom carpet. If you have an A&P around go there and purchase Rug Doctor Steam carpet cleaner. It is used for the rental machines they have. I swear by it. It takes everything out. Belive me. Use in hot water, I believe that is what does the trick. Prayer's comeing for little Maddie. Carol & Buddy |
Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear this! I hope she's ok. Prayers coming your way! |

oh no! Praying for Maddie, please keep us posted! I wonder what it could be, maybe ulcers.http://www.animalhospitals-usa.com/d...ing_blood.html |
I remembered my vet had given me his cell phone number, so I called him. He thinks it is coming from her colon, which doesn't make sense to me because if she has diarrhea, it gets all over her butt area hair and I have to wash her. When I checked Maddie, there was nothing on the fur of her butt, but her mouth area is wet. There is also no poop smell to this stuff. My vet still thinks it's with her colon and she does have problems with IBS, but whenever that crops up, she has to have her butt washed because it gets so messy. I wish he was in town. I asked him is she needs surgery, who would he suggest do it and he said he doesn't think it will come to that. Man oh man, I wish he was here. I haven't heard that much good about the other vets and would feel much better if I knew he was the one checking her. I'll let you know! |
I'll be praying for little Maddie. |
Oh also, simple solution from petsmart says it removes blood stains . |
I'm sorry this is happening to Maddie and you. :( Hopefully it\'s not serious. Please keep us updated. |
Guess Connie is not back from the vet yet. Fingers crossed Maddie is ok. Carol & Buddy |
Oh no, poor Maddie. Do you know what could have caused this? My babies will be sending warm kisses and I hope it is nothing serious. I will pray for her. She is such a wonderful and gorgeous furbaby . . . Please keep us posted. |
My Prayers with you you guys also.... |
Oh Connie, I\'m so sorry to hear about Maddie. I know its hard when the Vet you trust isn\'t around. Just hang in there. Maybe you might find someone else that will "suffice" if he isn\'t around. Any else here from your area? Maybe they can recommend someone. Winnipeg is a long way away. Thats the closest I could! Anyways, prayers are floating down from up north for little Maddie and that you find some one you feel comfortable with! |
OMG I hope she\'ll be okay:love: Prayers going up for her right now:hands: Hang in there Momma. Don\'t worry about the carpet, just cuddle with her:girl_hug: |
OMG I\'m just now seeing this !! POOR BABY and poor you !! Is there any news ? Did you get her in yet ? Connie - all I can say is I\'ll be praying for her - you\'ve been thru so much this last month and nothing can be wrong with that baby ....She just can\'t be sick. :( Could she have eaten something that made her barf look red ??? My girls freaked my out once doing that with a chewie - you know her better than anyone and I tend to think you\'d know blood if you saw it.... KEEPING you in my thoughts and prayers ....call me if you need to talk ok ??? |
I\'m keeping sweet Maddie in my thoughts. Try not to worry. |
Connie, you and Maddie are in my prayers! Oscar was sick once throwing up a lot of blood and it was some boiled chicken I had fed him. My vet said that some Yorkies just can\'t eat any people food! He gave him a shot and some meds and he has been fine ever since. I know it is scary to see that much blood for such a tiny one but I am sure she will be o.k.! She just has to be!!! Let us know when you get back from the vet!!! |
I am so sorry about Maddie. Pixie had s very similar thing 2 weeks ago. She threw up massive amounts of brown poopy looking vomit many times. I ran her in to my vet who took an Xray and thought maybe a possible blockage, but them they kept her and did a barium xray and the barium was going thru normally so they gave her a shot to settle her stomach and had me feed her hamburger and rice and she was fine the next day. But my other 2 then had bouts of diahrrea and vomiting. I think it was the hard food was bad from the breeder as it was out of date and I didn\'t know it even had a date, but it\'s a natural blend. Hopefully Maddie just ate something that didn\'t agree with her. |
Poor Maddie :( Sending prayers your way. Hope she\'s feeling better soon and this isn\'t anything serious. |
I just got back home with my precious Maddie. She doesn\'t feel good at all. It was vomit and not diarrhea...I had scraped some out of the carpet to take there and there was actually little blood clots in with it. I knew it was vomit because her butt was clean, but her mouth and nose were all wet. I feel so bad thinking of how sick she was while I was taking my shower. There were six places where she threw up with blood and little blood drops all around the house. The first thing he asked me is if she\'d gotten into any rat or mouse poison. I said no, but on the way home I got to wondering if there could be some in my Mom\'s basement. I need to go over there and check to see if there\'s anything there, as Maddie came down with me the other night. He then asked about table scraps and Maddie doesn\'t get table scraps unless someone gave some to her without my knowledge. He said that stress can also bring this on and asked if anything was different in Maddie\'s life. I told him my Mom had died. He asked if Maddie was close to her and I, of course, started crying and told him yes...they were very close and now we go to Mom\'s and she\'s not there. I told him how depressed she\'s been since Mom died. He diagnosed her with upper digestive inflammation and she will be on two different pills and pepcid a/c. The one pill she is to have a half hour before the pepcid a/c. Then the other pill and a half hour an hour after that she can eat. One pill is 3 times a day and the other is 2 times a day. He suggested canned i/d food for her for a while. She has a fever also. She isn\'t interested in eating, poor baby. I will just be babying her something awful. That vet seemed nice, but I\'d feel so much more relieved if I could have seen my own vet. My vet always writes instructions down and this guy didn\'t and now I\'m wondering if it was a half or a fourth of the pepcid ac. I will have to call there. Since Mom was sick and since she died, I just can\'t remember things. Thanks all for your prayers and I\'d so appreciate if you you\'d continue to pray for Maddie. I feel a little better since having her to the vet, but am still terribly concerned. Hugs to all! |
Praying all is going to be okay. Please let us know as soon as you can. |
Awwww, I hope she\'s feeling better soon. I\'ll keep her in my thoughts and please keep us posted as to how she\'s feeling. Poor little girl. |
Oh, Connie - I\'m relieved to hear that Maddie is going to be ok. That must have been so scary for you! I will say a prayer for you and your little girl that you both find peace and comfort. |
Poor baby and poor you. Big hugs to you girl! I think Maddie is missing your Mom and know something is different with you too. |
Connie - that\'s just what the vet said Chanel had and it went thru her system in about 4 days so this really could be stress related with little Maddie. I sure hope it is. I don\'t like to say that - but the alternative isn\'t something I want to think about and I know you don\'t !! Sending get well wishes for your baby and I really hope she feels better soon.....She has such a good mommy and you\'ve been thru so much that this just may be her body reacting to so many changes. |
So glad she is gonna be o.k. I am sure it was 1/4 a Pepcid...I think that was the dose that Oscar was on. |
