| please pray Last evening when we had company, someone brought their dog to our house. I don't trust larger dogs around my Mimi so I put her in our bedroom. Our room is "puppy proof," so I thought she was safe. There must have been someone who went into the room and shut or opened the door on her leg. To make a long story short her leg was fractured. My little angel is recovering after an emergency visit to the vet. I am so upset. I should have told everyone to stay out of the room. I have learned a hard lesson through all of this. If I ever put her there again there will be a lock on the door. Sorry this is so long. |

| I am so sorry! My thoughts and prayers are for you and your baby. Is your baby home? Accidents can and do happen sometimes no matter how much you try to prevent them. It sounds like you tried to anticipate things but it is hard to plan for the unexpected. Take care

| Mimi is home and I don't leave her side for very long. Give her lots of tummy rubs and tlc. Her leg is set right now, but I need to take the x rays to the vet this week. Her appetite is good and that is comforting. Thank you for your kindness. |

| Poor little Mimi. Please don't beat yourself up as accidents happen all the time even with every precaution taken. I'm glad to know Mimi is home with you and is feeling well despite her fracture. Sending both Mimi and you hugs...

| I'm so sorry Mimi was hurt and pray for her complete recovery. I must tell you what I did after my grandaughter dropped a dog of mine 5 years ago and Lily hit her head on the floor, died 3 days later from a blood clot. I told this child never to pick Lily up but she never is disciplined by her parents, doesn't listen to anyone. I saw it happening and couldn't get to Lily in time. I now have locks on all my bedroom doors as well as deadbholts. I'm an awful grandmother but my dogs are everything to me. I don't permit any children or guests to touch my dogs. I lock them up and pocket the keys. |

| update Mimi is having a some difficulty in maneuvering her injured leg because the splint covering made her right leg longer than the left one. But she is resting most of the time on my lap. I am so lucky to have her here at the office. I would be a nervous wreck if I had to leave her at home. I do put her in her little bed next to my desk once in a while. So we have a vet appointment this week for a second opinion. I hope for good news. Thanks to all who sent well wishes and prayers. |

| Poor Mimi. I know exactly what you mean with the splint.....Cali's back left leg is the one that broke, so when I take her out to use the potty, she almost tips over trying to manuever. And last night was the worst: Since the doctor told us to make sure that she stays still, ofcourse that means she sleeps a lot during the day. And you know what that means? A dog who is no where near sleepy at night. So, from one in the morning until about five, she screamed. Howled like she did when I first brought her home a month ago. She hadn't done that since like the first two or three days home. I don't know how I'm gonna make it through these next 5 weeks. I don't want her to start feeling like I'm going to get her in the middle of the night. It wasn't like she was in pain, though. She wanted to play. She had completed shredded her peepee pad, one of her toys had been thrown out of her pen, it looked like she had entertained herself as much as she could, and couldn't take it anymore. I felt bad, but I ended up just closing her up in her crate and closing her up in a room downstairs. Having to work today, I needed to get at least a few hours of sleep. I've got to figure out how to keep her awake and entertained tonight enough to wear her out, but without a lot of movement. Any ideas?
