Donating YT 11K Club Member | London sleeps too much.....:( I'm worried because she's very lethargic. When I got Teddy he was very hyper and running around. Most of the time London sleeps. She's going to be 10 wks old. She won't eat so I syringe fed her the formula Luna'smommy posted and she actually ate that and liked it. I put some pedialyte in her water also. I gave her nutrical. She just sleeps a lot! Should I be worried? She looks sick. Her vet appt. is nxt week. |

| London sleeps to much I personally would not wait until her appointment next week. I would take her to the vets asap. Could be nothing, but if she is sleeping a lot, appears lethargic & not eating for a 10 week old that is not very normal (well not in all the little ones I have had). She may have eaten a small foreign object or if she has not had all her vaccinations could she have come into contact with other dogs & picked up something that she is unable to shake off. Poor baby. Lots of hugs coming to you.

| I've heard that all puppies are different so if she is eating enough and just sleeping a lot, she might need the rest. She's had a big trip and is probably a little out of sorts. Check her gums, make sure they are nice and pink and not white and check the skin on the back of her neck. If you pinch it up does it stay that way or go back down? If she is eating food regularly and is just sleeping a lot it might be normal. She is a puppy and I know they do sleep a lot. Of course a trip to a vet will probably ease your mind regardless. Maybe you could take her to a different vet or perhaps there are some emergency clinics in your area? I'm sure London will be ok |

| If I remember correctly, my pups slept a lot at that age also. Have you checked her stool for worms? Sometimes that will make them lethargic and give them an upset stomach. Make sure to take a stool sample to the vet with you so they don't have to take a sample (can be dangerous). |

| That always annoys me when a vet can't fit in an appointment for a new puppy. I'd go elsewhere with such a young, tiny puppy. Lately, all the dogs I've bought in the past 6 years arrived with Giardia. It's true that most young puppies have a period of adjustment in a new environment but I wouldn't want to take a chance. Your puppy also doesn't have all it's innoculations. I separate a new pup from the others until 10 days have past in case it has something. Last edited by prettypuppypink; 12-17-2006 at 10:47 AM. | I'd move that vet appt up too for one that young. Especially if its their first visit and being that young. Usaully, they are quite playful, and into everything. |

| Could you call the vet and ask them to call you if somebody else cancels? I think she needs to see the vet ASAP.

| I'd call the vet first thing tomorrow morning and ask them to see her. It would only take a few minutes to check her out, and in a puppy that young, they should be willing to squeeze her in. If not, go to http://www.ytca.org/breeder3.html, find a breeder close to you, and ask them which vet they use. You're more likely to find a vet experienced in Yorkies and toy dog breeds that way. I hope that your baby will be fine!

Donating YT 11K Club Member | Hey guys London is doing sooo much better now. She's eating and drinking good and she has a lot more energy. She is playing with toys and running around. I think she just needed a good nap. I am going to call the vet tom. and see what they can do. |
