Infection? Hi all, I brought my boys to the groomers on saturday for their first grooming! One of my boys has been attacking his little penis with gusto for 2 days now. I looked at it, thinking that maybe she nicked the outside by accident, but I don't see anything. It was/is red from him licking it so much, but nothing more I could see. Until this morning I looked again and there was a drop of pus looking stuff coming out of it. They have a vet appt on friday, should I move it up? Any ideas what this might be? He seems to be fine other than its obviously bugging him! Thanks!

With the pus coming out, I'd sure move that appointment up from Friday.

I think I would try to move the appointment up too. Probably isn't anything life threatening, but I'm sure he would appreciate a few less days of irritation.

hi, Thanks for the replies I took my boys to the vet last night. Fletch for his infection and both of them for their vaccinations. Fletch has either clipper burn or an irritation to the products the groomer used on him. But he infected it by licking it so much. Hes on an antibiotic and has to wear an e-collar for a few days. Both of them had their vacs, rabies & distemper, their 2nd 'puppy' round, 1 year after the last time they had them. Now the next time is 3 years from now. Last time they had them the vet did it on 2 seperate days bc they were so small (2.5lbs) but now that they are bigger, she did both the shots last night at the same time. Dexter had an allergic reaction. His eyes got all red and swollen and he had big red hives all over his body, he was itchy and rubbing all over the carpet. I called the emergency number they left me with and they told me to give him 2mls of childrens benadryl. I did and it seemed to have worked, he cleared up in a couple hours and he looked and acted fine this morning. Im not happy about leaving them alone all day while I work, but both of them might need a good day of peace & quiet! None of us got very good sleep last night!
