| Update on Lacy's broken leg Again thanks to all those who responded with information on their experiences. As stated on my last post, our vet said surgery was imperative and he did it on Tuesday morning. We brought her home yesterday with 3 pins through her leg and a bar on the outside stabilizing the bones. Dr. says that he found another small fracture on post surgical x-ray that could have even occured during surgery. He hopes that it will heal by itself, but would not rule out a 2nd surgery. She is on an antibiotic, pain killer and NSAID. She has to be kept quiet and separated from Caesar so that they cannot try to play. We put a softsided kennel up in the livingroom (which she doesn't want to be in) and so I just sat and held her most of the afternoon and evening. We are keeping our fingers crossed and trying to be optimistic, but it is sure hard to see her like this. Caesar just keep sniffing her and her leg and wants to be right in the middle of whatever is going on with her. Again, thanks to you all. |
