| So glad that Zoe is OK now, thanks to your quick handling of the situation. These little ones have to be watched like hawks sometimes. Today I was baking cookies, and some choc. chips fell to the floor. I had to practically dive to the floor to get them before my boys got them in their mouths. It gets crazy sometimes!

| Oh poor Zoe. I'm glad he feels better. My Kodi ate onion also before I didn't Know they were toxic. He had a big round slice. I was lucky I guess all he got from it was onion breath. |

| Glad Zoe is back to normal. Why would a dog eat onions? You don't say how much Zoe weighs for the dosage they recommended. I've always been told 1/2 teaspoon per 5 pounds, but have never heard of waiting for the fizz to stop or mixing with milk or peanut butter. Good to know. Still keep a close eye on her because there is a condition called hemolytic anemia they can get from onion ingestion that occurs several days, like 5 after eating. Symptoms are : Pale gums Yellow tinged gums or whites of the eyes Dark or dark yellow urine Tiring easily, weakness Lethargy Last edited by Lacy's Mom; 11-28-2006 at 12:58 AM. |

Zoe is 6lbs. I just followed the instructions that the posion control gave me and it worked. As for the fizz....don't wait for it to stop. Just pour it down a drain to see if it fizzes. The peanut butter is for them to swallow it. Zoe wouldn't drink the peroxide alone. They also told me about these symptoms and I have been watching him like a hawk. I am home all week except thursday so if he is fine by then, he should be ok. The vet told me to watch for these symptoms 2 days after the consumption but I will continue to look for them for a week...THANK YOU! As for eating the onions... Zoe eats anything and everything. I have to be extremely careful of what falls to the floor. I usually gate up the kitchen so he can't lick the floors but this time he went through a hefty garbage bag and took out leftovers and ate all the onions.

| Sorry, about the gender confusion, I was thinking more Zoey then Zoe. So I guess you are just making sure the peroxide is "fresh" by looking for the fizz. Silly boy, eating onions, I bet he wanted a kiss when you got home too! |

As for the name...I get alot of that. "WHY DID YOU NAME HIM A GIRLS NAME?" I thought it was a cute name and now I can't imagine him being named anything else.
