| Sweet Pea has been on the Omeprazole for three days and on Prednisolone for 10 days. Today she is walking, trying to run, wagging her tail and following us from room to room. She is still shivering (however, right now in my lap she is not shivering), although not as much and her balance is still unsteady, but she is definitely improving. We cannot wait to see her improvement tomorrow. Thank you all so much for all of the helpful posts and your kind thoughts. |

| I cannot stress enough that Hydocephalus is more often a symptom of any of the mentioned disorders than a diagnosis. Further workup/assessment needs to be done on this puppy. If GME is the cause of the hydrocephalus, and she is not on a regimen of drugs specifically for that disorder, the outcome will not be a good one.

| She is doing wonderfully. 95% back to herself ( maybe even more), no longer taking lasix, tapering the pred., continuing on the omeprazole, have follow up visit Friday morning. Shivering has stopped, and I really have to watch to catch any unsteadiness in her gait. Thank you so much for asking. It has been a very emotional time. |

Glad she's doing better. I apologize for the giant font post... I tend to lose it every now and then.

| I'm not sure but the title says it is and the dog is on omeprizole so I'm thinking so as the deformity is what causes the hydrocephalus and omeprizole slows the production of spinal fluid, allowing for it to escape and not build up in the brain. |

| Yes, but sashajade was the original poster, she has not posted since starting this thread. Magnoliamommy had similar concerns and innocently hijacked the thread.(no problem). She stated that her vet diagnosed Hydrocephalus, and, those drugs will work to an extent on CSF from any disease to limit the amount of CFS produced by the body. But as I understand it, this may not be the best protocol, as hydrocephalus can be just a symptom of any of those other diseases. Hopefully her vet will look into it further... Then again, I could be wrong...
