No disrespect, but I *highly* disagree with this statement. Kibble, after all, is simply "people food" that is processed to the point of being unrecognizable as food. Kibble IS people food, just not fit for humans.

There is a ton of info on here about pancreatitis. Also, there is an animal nutritionist I highly recommend, as do others - her name is Susan Davis - and she has worked miracles for many of us.

Recently, she helped a member "Laurenr" - whose dog, Mango, was just diagnosed with Pancreatitis - and is THRIVING on a homecooked diet. If you PM Lauren, I'm sure she'll share her experience w/ Susan with you.

Praying that Bentley pulls through. my girl Maggie had pancreatitis last October and she is doing really well now. I didn't feed her table food but a high fat content puppy food as recommended by a vet during her pregnancy. So it isn't just caused by table food. Now she is on natural balance and she does get treats but I cautiously watch the fat content in anything I give her.

thanks so much. elliott came home last night, and got rechecked this morning.
hes on a bland diet, (ID from Hills) are oyu familiar wiht it?
also has pain med, (Torbitrul), and also on clavomox.
so, its just a matter of watching him closely. he's been a bit perkier today, just eating VERY little each time, about a tablesppon of the ID every little while. They gave him an injection for fluids because he would not drink any water. so, keep him in your prayers please. and thank you many times over!

The word pancreatitis is too long for a search. Try words like pancreas or fatty foods. That will bring up some threads.

I'm glad Elliot is home and feeling perkier. I'll keep him in my prayers.

Hoping for a full recovery.
Sending hugs your way! It's very stressful and I had this with one of my Yorkies. She was sensitive to steroids and her vet didn't mark her records as such. She pulled through but it took time. She was also on milk thistle(non alcohol) from the health food store for her liver when we changed vets.
