| Lucy has a sore throat! Lucy has been playing and eating normally for the past week, but would vomit a yellow frothy liquid about once a day. (Usually after playing especially hard with her new little puppy companion, Rebel) I took her to the vet Thursday and he said she had a VERY sore throat and gave her an antibiotic shot and pills for the next 7 days. She had a slight temp, which he said was normal with a sore throat. He said her tonsils were swollen and for me to watch her and bring her back if she's not better quickly. She's not eating very much, but is drinking water regularly and is more quiet than normal. She still plays with Rebel, but comes to sit in my lap and rest frequently. I gave her a little yogurt since she doesn't want to eat her hard dogfood and I was wondering if anyone can suggest anything else? She doesn't feel like she's lost any weight, so she's obviously eating enough, but you can tell her throat is sore and she'll gag occasionally like it hurts.

| Poor Lucy...I hope she gets better quickly. Maddie had tonsillitis this past summer and wouldn't eat either. I tried different things, like soft, canned dog food and chicken, but until that throat starts feeling better, nothing looks good to them. Does she like to lick on ice cubes? The cold might make her throat feel better. I did use a syringe to get Maddie to drink a little water during that time because I didn't want her to get dehydrated. One thing worth mentioning is that after going on the antibiotics, Maddie felt better pretty quickly...like by the next day as far as eating, but it did take a while to get completely back to her old self! Maddie and I send get well kisses to Lucy!

| Maybe just a softer diet for a few days. When my baby Pete wasnt feeling well my vet recommended feeding rice mixed with nonfat cottage cheese or rice with boiled chicken. It might be easier to swallow and its also easier on the tummy Good Luck |

| Update Lucy seems to feel better, but she still throws up at least once per day. I took the day off tomorrow and I think I'm going to take her back to the vet just to be on the safe side. If her tonsils are bad I want to know now. I don't want her to be in pain and I think her throat being sore is what's making her throw up. (maybe drainage???)
