Seizure???? I had my 4 month old yorkie Chloe in her cage for about 2 hours this morning...when I went to check on her she would not move and she was drooling everywhere!!!! I'm not sure what happened...??? As far as I know there was nothing bad in her cage that would have hurt her, and before I put her in she was fine and very playful!!! How can I tell what is wrong??? I gave her a bath, to clean her up...she is still drooling and her tounge is semi out of her mouth and her jaw is semi opened as well....please help...!!!

| There are a lot of information on seizure on here :- http://www.canine-epilepsy.net/basics/basics_main.html It is best to bring your dog to the vet. Call your vet and have her in right away. I wouldn't give her a bath right away. Just wipe her up and wait till she is much better. Have your vet check on her asap..it might be some kind of poisoning and you never know but a vet will. I had a dog, Shih Tzu who had seizure. I couldn't remember how long it last but the after effect was his head is tilted to one side and it took him years to heal from that. The vet said there are lots of causes which is hard to identify but I think mine was either genetic or stress as he just came to us when he had his seizure. The vet said he might most probably have seizure again but mine never had for the next 8 years. I also changed his diet to human cooked food based on a balanced nutrition diet. I am not sure if that made him healthier but he certainly was.

I'm pretty sure it was a seizure.... I give her Nutri-cal everyday to avoid the hypoglycemia.... I did try anyway to give her some...she won't take it...so I put some of it in her mouth for her...she has been eating well, and playing well, and she always eats her Nutri-cal everyday...she loves it...!!! Is there anything else that this could be besides a seizure?? As far as how I explained what had happened?? Thanks for your help everyone!!!

I would probably run to the vet not walk. These little guys can go down fast.Always call the vet and at least inquire about their symptoms, with anything that makes you feel uneasy or does not seem right.Treatment right away is the best thing.

My little one had the same thing and we thought that we were going to loose him. We now keep sugar water sealed in the fridge and a siringe handy. Giving him a few squirts every 10 minutes until he seems better. Our vet gave us some glucose sealed vials to keep handy at all times. He has out grown the problem but scared us to death the first time it happened.
