| Hacking Hey everyone. My 10 week old dog Tribute loves to go outside and use the bathroom and plays just a lil bit. He likes to get leaves and sticks and run with them but I always keep an eye on him. This evening he was lying in my fiance's lap when I noticed he was salivating alot. When I went to get him he vomited up grass looking substance. He is drinking water but wont eat his food at the moment. He starts to hark up something like a person would cough but nothing comes up. I checked his mouth and nothing. He is having loose stools also. Could he have swallowed something and should I be worried and take him to an emergency vet? |

My furkids Donating Member | He probably ate something off of the ground. Puppies are like babies EVERYTHING goes in their mouths...If he is still salivating I would call the ER vet and see what they think...especially where he won't eat and has loose stools.

| He is not salivating now. He has been all around the room playing and will drink his water and will take some nutrical but wont come near me-I believe he thinks I done it. He went out and peed and is lying down now. He has not slept much today-been very active. I might be worrying to much. I think he may have ate some grass and it upset his tummy like food does humans. I will keep a close eye on him. Just wondered if this has happened to anyone else. He hacks but nothing comes up. I took a flashlight and looked in his mouth and nothing. He is not wheezing and his water does not come back up. |

My furkids Donating Member | My adult Yorkie has eaten grass if she had an upset tummy and then she vomits. Has he eaten anything? Maybe a piece of grass is stuck on the back of his throat. Try giving him a dog treat and see if that helps to get it to go down.

| He hasnt done it since he has laid down-I tried to give him a treat but he ran from it-dont know if he thinks that made him sick. He is so precious to me and when he doesnt act right I get very scared and watch his every move. He is my sweet baby. I am just trying to figure out what I can do to prevent this? |
