| throwing up yellow stuff & hair balls Hi guys, if anyone has any idea what is going on with my little Chewy please let me know. yesterday morning he threw up some yellow foam. He then threw up again later in the morning the same thing. he seems fine. still acting normal running around & playing, but yesterday afternoon he threw up his food. he was till acting fine. I called the vet to see what they thought & they told me to give him half of a pepcid & not to feed him anything else only water & ice. He did not throw up anymore yesterday, but this morning around 5am he threw up a very small amount about the size of a thumb nail & there was a hair ball in it. he threw up again about 2 hours ago & it to was the same yellow stuff with a hair ball. has anyone every heard of this before? he is acting fine still running & playing still wanting to eat. I just don't know what to think. the vet said if he is not doing any better today i should bring him in. I hope he is ok I am so worried about him. |

| I agree that you need to take him to the vet. He's throwing up much too much and that yellow is bile. He's going to get dehydrated if you aren't careful. Do you give him anything like Nutrical or even Karo syrup to keep his sugar levels up? Good luck!

| I knew what you meant. I wouldn't worry too much. It is usually something that is easily treatable. Just don't give him any human food. Let us know what you find out.

| Timmy does the same thing when he's on a empty stomach for too long. I've noticed that if he doesn't eat anything before bed time he throws up bile in the morning so every night before we go to bed I give him some treats or put some food in my hands and roll it on the floor...he will run after it and eat it. I would say if Timmy goes on a empty stomach for more than 6-8 hrs he throws up bile. Try giving your baby something to munch on before bedtime to see if that helps. Make sure he is also drinking water. |

| My Amanda throws up bile almost every day, sometimes it happens twice a day and it's because her stomach is empty (she's not much of an eater when it comes to dry dog food) the vet said I should give her a couple of small pieces of chicken breast before bed time and when she wakes up in the morning.I have tried this and it works but another problem arises, since I try to get her to eat only dry dog food (royal canine for yorkies) I don't give her any other human food than the chicken breast pieces and because she doesn't like dry food she doesn't eat all day untill she gets her chicken breast pieces so she throws up again on different hours.I still haven't found a solution to the problem. |
