First of all, I said one of my black friends. Please tell me how that is an issue? From my understanding, you were saying what people want to be called, and I told you she prefers the term Black instead of African American. Since it was involving race, I thought telling you what race she is would help you out, because if she wasn't Black, it wouldn't make any sense. Did I say anything about being fat or overwieght? No, so don't put words into my mouth just to try and start something, it's not going to work I myself am very short, not a little person, but really short, and people always called me a midget growing up. I've never been offended. I know being short and a little person aren't the same, but I don't find that term offensive, and like I said, if I did offend anyone I apologyze. So get over it, quit trying to pick a fight. Internet fighting is like the special olympics....need I say more, or will that go into another arguement on your behalf? Also, you can sit here and type all day that YOU don't think it's funny. But to me it was...now think whatever you want to think about me being amused, and say what you want. But your just wasting your finger muscles

Ooooh you do volunteer work...want a cookie? I do volunteer work too, and if you would notice, I didn't finish it for a reason, and since your trying to get me to finish the SAYING, I'm sure you know how it goes, and if your smart you would realize I didn't finish the saying for a reason. For you and a couple others: Now it looks like you guys are ganging up on me because of what I thought was funny. So I'm gonna end this on one note. Do YOURSELVES a favor, go out, get some fresh air, realize what REAL problems are going on in the world, and don't try to be someones mama that you didn't give birth too! Moan and groan all you want, but please, if you don't stress about little things you see on YT or any internet forum, you will live a happier life. I'm done! Admin, wanna close this?

I don't have anything to add to the political correctness, but I do feel the need to point out that Autism and retarded ARE NOT THE SAME. Retarded is a laymans term for Down's Syndrome. TWO SEPARATE DISEASES. My sister has a mild case of Down's and my cousin is Autistic...totally different! Please do not use that as a comparison, because they are not. Autism and retardation are two separate conditions! Please do NOT confuse them!

| Rae Rae --- look what you started...... And I can't help but agree with you on this one..... I think all you were commenting on was seeing a person smaller than most people being with a dog that is larger than most dogs.... And, I agree that this is something we see every day. I was at PetCo about a year ago - and a huge big handsome young black guy had this tiny little chihuahua (a baby one at that) in the palm of his hand. He and his girlfriend had just bought it a harness - and I told him that I couldn't believe seeing the two of them together. He really laughed and said that he couldn't believe it either. He said he would never have believed it if anyone told him he was ever going to be crazy about a tiny little dog like that. He said he just loved that dog. Everyone got a kick out of the two of them together. Again - it was just the size of the person and the size of the dog being together that drew so much attention. I'm sure your "little person" with her Newfoundland gets a lot of comments about how big her dog is for her. And - I would suspect that it doesn't bother her at all. I'm sure she is very proud of her big dog! After all - these dogs are "huge" --- more than a lot of people could manage. Actually - now that I'm thinking of it. We used to have a family in our neighborhood that had a great dane - and the woman often took it for walks. And - don't think everyone didn't always comment on that dog being so big for her. She probably weighed 110 pounds or so - and she had one big dog! Whatever - I agree there are far more important things in this world to worry about. Really - there are. ***** And I didn't know "midget" was an offensive term either. But I do think that "vertically challanged" and "height impaired" are totally ridiculous. Carol Jean |

But you understand exactly what I was trying to comment on...the size of the pair! Pointing out that she was a little person just helps paint the picture better, you know! Thanks for understanding!

| Let's not turn this thread into a debate. Everyone step away from your computer, go smoooooooch your Yorkie and then come back when you are feeling more calm.

| I see the humor Rae Rae! And I strongly suspect that the vertically challenged individual of which you speak sees it too. We have a very very large man who likes to walk his miniature doxie around the neighborhood. He knows how funny it looks and gets a big kick out of it himself. Now for your penance you sinful name caller: You are to watch the television program titled Little People / Big World and report back to the list when you have learned your lesson. The program is on TLC. And for those of you who want to keep aggravating the situation, you are assigned the task of getting all that isn't PC off of the air waves. As for me, I'm going back to my couch and playing with my dog! |
