| Update on Indiana... Well I took my boy to another vet and she ran stool samples and placed him on a med for coccidia. She didn't confirm that was his problem but he will be treated for it for 14 days. She als gave me a laxative for him. He is still not wanting to eat a lot but they said the laxative should clear him out. He i sleeping a lot and the vet was going to give him an enema but was worried about him getting that being so small. She has scheduled him for an x-ray to see if he has a rupture in his poor bottom that is keeping him from pooping. I will only do that in a few days if he doesn't poop. If he does she said there is no threat. (Well he pooped after that so I think it is ok...I'm still aiting for more poops.)In the meantime he is being fed some dry food and chichen with rice and cottage cheese. He seems to want the laxative more than the other things, lol. That part is kind of funny. I think he is going to be ok. I am not going to worry as long as he does eat and poop. Thank you for all of your suggestions! If any of you think of anything else please feel free to let me know. ~Tru

| Thank you... Hey, He is ok now as far as I can tell. I am keeping him on meds and a laxative. He likes both better than the food, lol. It was scary for a few days there but he is acting normal and everything seems ok now. I am just glad I got him treated. Thank you for all for your kind words! I think everything is alright. :-) ~Tru

| I'm so glad to hear your little guy is feeling better. Really liking the meds and laxatives? You're gonna have an additcted little pup with an eating disorder. That's too funny.

| I have never heard of coccidia and laxative mentioned in the same sentence, usually they have diarrhea. Rice is to firm up stools, discontinue it if he is constipated. Try to get him off the laxative as soon as possible so he doesn't become dependent on it. Try canned pumpkin (without all the spices), a teaspoon three times a day for a natural and safer remedy to constipation. |
