| Praying for her continued improvement. Sitting up is definitely a big step from lifeless. Common Macy, you can do it, Sweetie.

| Just talked to the vet today and he happend to be there today with her just got thru giving her another iv injection....actually got her to eat some special kidney diet food...so I'm hoping we are on the right track to getting better. He wouldn't tell me that she was getting better...said we wouldn't see any results until Tuesday, I'm assuming \they run labs again then? but wouldn't it make sense that since she's making this progress that hopefully she's getting better? i mean once kidneys start shutting down can they heal again?? |

| I don't know much about the kidneys, but it seems like whatever the reason for the shutdown might have alot to do with whether or not they can start working again. I'll be praying for Macy and for a good report on Tuesday. Hang in there, Sweetie.

I am sorry to hear about Macy, but hopefully she is improving. I do know what your going through my Gucci is 2 and last month was the month from hell. To make a long story short she went from being this healthy puppy to having being diagnosed with liver shunt, she had surgery last Thursday. Yes it is very stressful. Think postive thoughts and I will keep you both in my prayers. You have come to the right place for good thoughts and prayers , the people on here are very caring.. Keep us posted.. Gina | |

| Update on Macy Thanks you guys so much for your prayers and support, I believe it's working....this morning we were woke up by the vet calling to say that she'd improved so much we could actually come pick her up for the day. We went to get her and she was her hyper old self. She went from being lifeless to her hyper old self. You can tell she still doesn't feel well but its a huge improvement. I'm still not wanting to get my hopes up, but it's a huge improvment. We take her back to the vet a 530 today for more iv's and i'm not real sure if he will keep her or send her back home with us. I will let you guys know ! she is going to the bathroom on her own, so i would assume that her kidneys are working right?? she still has diarrhea but it is starting to take shape, if that makes sense. she is so happy to be at home and so are we!! thanks guys! ashley |

| Sounds like good news. I'm glad your baby is home with you at least for the day. Just because she is able to urinate doesn't really mean anything. Kidney disease is when the kidneys cannot remove the toxins, but they do drink more and pee more when something is wrong, except in the very last stages they might not urinate at all. Maybe she had acute renal failure caused by the bacteria which is totally reversible with treatment - the chronic form of renal failure is more serious and entails a strict diet. |
