| Giving the update she passed away today.. she had a liver disease that made her not produce enough glucose on her own.. bad enough on its own but when the stress produced the cocciidiosis.. the treatment for it made everything worse. gave her glucose every 3 hours. but her body fighting the parasite couldnt keep up.. i cried for 2 hours so im just now posting a reply.. thanks for the help and prayers.. |

| I'm so very sorry for your loss The loss of a pet is just as devestating as losing someone human. In some ways, the loss of a beloved pet is more so because they love so unconditionally, wanting nothing more in return than your love! Prayers will continue for you!

| im doing better now went from grief to anger.. ive called the breeder twice first to let them know of the parasite so they could take precautions at there kennel in case the other puppies were in danger..i called to let them know she passed away. (we both used the same vet). and that if he wanted to contact the vet he would explain what all was wrong with her. both times i got the impression they were only concerned about me wanting a refund.. the first call i told him not to worry i did NOT want to return her for a refund i wanted him to know just to protect the other pups.. and i wasnt going togive her back i was going to get her well..after 3 visits to the vet in 3 days i thought he would understand that.it amazes me how someone could raise them and not care what happens when there sick.. |

Have you tried dropper feeding her Esbilac or other puppy formula. Also, dropper feed her with karo syrup and water. Chicken Baby Feed in the jar is also good to try and spoon feed a little at a time. The main thing, keep her warm and continue to get liquids in her. Coccidiosis doesn't have to be fatal. As long as she is on meds for it and given a little time to recover while you continue to give her fluids. | |

| thats what the vet told me when i toook her in to be treated but the problem turned out to be her liver not producing glucose she was constantly going into hypoglycemic shock. both problems together made her to weak to fight. ive had her ringers replacing her fluids.. and was feeding her literally anything they suggessted she just vomitted it up.. even with being giving reglan every 4 hours for vomitting she would still vomit everything.. so we got her on centrine for vomitting and diarhea she still couldnt hold anything down. the 2nd vet said even if tube fed they couldnt control her sugar dropping.. the breeder called back and said i could have a minpin to replace her.. i told her thanks but im a yorkie lover she said she didnt have any yorkie pups now. i dont think i want a puppy atm i want to steralize my home in a major way to make sure the parasite is gone.. anyone know whats the best to use to kill the parasite?.. i have 4 other dogs here to worry about and there anxious to come back inside.. |
