He did another stool sample and again found no parasite, and little to no blood at that time... that was good!
He told me that sometimes tiny dogs get upset stomachs from stress. He wasn't sure that this was the problem, but offered it as a possibility.
My Biggie is quite nervous. If I am with him, he is brave and strong, but when he gets left alone for too long, or if there are a lot of strangers/activity around, he gets very nervous.
The "nervous" explaination seems weak to me, but that is all we have to go on for now. Biggie seemed much better yesterday and was back to "normal" within several hours of the vet visit. This has occurred several times in his little 3 year life.
Other than constantly watching him, I'm not sure what to do. Thanks again for being so caring, thoughtful, and suggestive. I truely appreciate the help!!! |
So thankful to hear Mr. Biggie is doing better, I was wondering if you have a yorkie group in your area where several of you can have get togethers and socialize with them, that may very well help Mr. Biggie to overcome the nervousness that you say exists. I am glad you got him into another vet, he sounds honest and sincere, if he goes through this again, and if he was mine I would take him back right away just to have him checked and another stool check, my vet said they don't always catch the parasite
he told me sometimes it takes several check ups to find out if they really have it. My vet retired so now we have to find a new one, hope we are fortunate in getting one that is caring and honest right up front as yours seems to be.
Best to you. You have had him now for almost three years so you know what is unusual, how much does Mr.Biggie weigh, please keep us updated on how he is doing. I take Baby Blessing with me everyplace she is so socialized that honestly if she got away from me I know she would go to the first person she saw. She is tooooo friendly but at home she is totally on guard, a Doberman in a yorkie body
