As far as the breeder, my daughter brought her from a puppy store. We never owned a dog before and when she went in there ,it was a impulse and she came home with her. We all fell in love with her. Over the two years that I have been on this forum I learned alot and believe me I would never again buy from a puppy store, you learn. I hear that this happens with reputable breeders also. I am seriously thinking of going back there and speaking with the owner for I hear stories about sick dogs being purchased there. I don't know where it will get me, but I am willing to give it a try.I even contacted a woman that brought a yorkie the same day as me, we were told they were from the same litter, sisters. It happens that she lives by me in NJ , so I called her last night to find out how her dog is and to make her aware of the situation, if I can help her dog I will be happy. She returned my call but I didn't have my phone with me. I will try today... Whether Gucci is from a puppy store or not we still love her and will go the extra miles for her.. Thanks for all your concerns .. Gina

Many have bought from pet stores before they knew. It' a shame they don't make laws agaist them. I believe, they are banned in the UK.

I know it's very hard to resist a puppy from a pet store and we've all made decisions that haven't been the best when it comes to yorkies. fall in love to easily. Yes, it happens to reputable breeders too. However, the key phrase here is Reputable Breeders, they aren't perfect when breedeing, any breeder that says they've never had a problem isn't telling the truth, but will stand beside you if anything goes wrong. I'm glad you contacted Gucci's litter sisters owner, there may be a possibility that she did not inherit the disease. That does happen where one has it but, the other doesn't. Even though she shouldn't be bred. The decision is yours, but I would have the surgery done on her, think of the alternative, and I understand it isn't pretty to watch. My prayers are with Gucci and your family, Mary
