Awww...I will Connie - and I'm just glad Maddie only has toncillitis - With the parvo scares and so many things out there - it's scary to love something this much and keep them safe. Keep us posted on Maddie ? I bet she feels better quickly on her medicine. and Chachi - I'll pm thisHunny right now - That was nice you were thinking of her    Her yorkie may need a much stronger antibiotic than what they have her yorkie on - but I'll get ahold of my friend - she's a member here, but hardly online...I know she'll talk to thishunny & share what she knows about mites. |
We hope that you feel better Maddie! Poor little girl! I'm so sorry that this happened Connie. |
Awwwww I just saw this and Connie, I am so thankful for you telling this story! I would not know what to do and would never imagine this could happen. Thank you thank you thank you (and I'll have some wine too)! Big kisses to Maddie for a speedy recovery :) |
I am sorry that Maddie has to go through because I HAVE TONSILLITIS!! This is something I have to live with for the rest of my life because I refuse to remove my tonsils. Its VERY painful and I wouldn't wish it on anyone exp a little dog. This is the first that I heard a dog having it but my thoughts are with you and Maddie!! Antibiotics will do the trick. As for the maggot...it is a bit gross but you know what? You are a good mommy that took care of it right away which means that Maddie is the luckiest dog EVER. LOTS OF HUGS FROM ME AND ZOE! |
I am so sorry this had to happen to anyone. I have not read all of the responses but it looks like you don't have to worry about any one thinking bad of you or your baby. Look at this support group you have here! I am very proud of you for telling your story and I am also very proud of YT members for backing you. I hope all is better soon and everyone gets back to being healthy again. |
Oh man. I'm just reading this now. Sorry about Maddie. I would have been grossed out too!!! I've never heard of that! How is she doing today? :getwellso |
Hey one and all...what a great bunch of people! Thanks for all the positive remarks! Maddie is feeling better. She is able to eat without making that choking sound and doesn't appear to be in much pain when she swallows! As for the sore...that is healing up very nicely and so far, I have found no more sores on her. I am rather paranoid...if I see a bug of any kind near Maddie, I am scaring it away from her! I still can't believe this happened!!! Hopefully none of you will ever have to deal with anything like that, but if you do, you probably won't be as shocked as I was, since you've now heard of it!!! LOL |
Just a little FYI Very sorry to hear the news about your Maggie. BUT, I can't believe that you wouldn't consider getting a pet if you knew this might happen. I grew up on a farm, and this happens often on both cows and horses. Yes, it's unpleasant, but more-so for your pet. Instead of dwelling on your own little personal dilemma, please realize the relief you brought to your pet by removing it. That's like saying, "If I knew how gross child-birth was, I'd never have sex!!" Geez. Sober up, grow up, and pat yourself on the back for taking your pet to the vet. The reward of a constant companion that never waivers far outweighs the negative moment that you incurred. Just a thought, rather than a 1995 Opus One, how about a weekend escape to a local venue with your special someone, and a stay at a nearby Hotel? Just a thought. Tracy |

Just wanted to say that I am glad Maddie is better!!! Trixie also had tonsilitis and had to have her tonsils removed. I did not know it was that common until I found out she had it. She was up and running the next day, she wanted to right after I picked her up from the surgery but I would not let her. She just can't stay down for long and her recovery was really fast, you woulden't have known she even had surgery! |

Just a thought:rolleyes: .....Why not save the preaching for those who really need it ? and Connie - hugs to you - there is always someone that just HAS to say something negative isn't there ? Don't let it bother you.....How is that pretty girl doing ? |
Thank you Nicole and Villette! I came upstairs from sewing until 2 AM last night and always have to take a peak at YT. When I saw that post, I was so tired, it didn't kick in until I went to bed and then I started thinking about this and wondering if I saw right...that this person had 1 post. I wanted to get back up and look again, but I was too tired. So, here I am and truly ticked! I almost wonder if it is someone that knows me and doesn't like me for some reason. Why in the world would they come on as a new member and pick my post out of the thousands of others and type a response like that? As for you, hu112bu, I don't feel I have to defend myself to the likes of you. Yes...you did manage to p*ss me off, but I will NOT dwell on it. I can do without friends like you! My Trixie143...thanks for your info on Trixie's surgery. I'm so glad she did well! I hope and pray Maddie's tonsillitis is a one time thing, but it's nice to know, if it should be a problem, that there is a quick recovery from surgery. As for my dear little Maddie...she is back...100%!!! Yipppeeeee! I noticed this a couple of days ago when she was once again so full of life and being her wild and crazy self! It truly does my heart good and puts a smile on my face!!! |
