| ![]() At this point I would not rock the boat. If the pups are warm and nursing, can not fall off the bed or get tangled in the bedding I would wait another couple days...then I would put them all in an enclosed pen. What would happen if you got a plastic Rubber Made bin and put it on the couch...do you think she would stay in the bin with the babies? |

| ![]() I had one Mom that wanted the puppies in bed with me. This was 20 years ago and we had a waterbed that the puppies could have easily fallen down on the side and been smashed. I couldn't let her have her way in this instance. Just keep a very close eye on them. Maybe you could place a box on the couch and cut an entrance for Mom so she could still be where she wants to be, but the puppies are more confined. |

| ![]() Congratulations on the new pups. I am so happy to hear that they are doing so much better than when you first posted. I am so glad that there is a place like YorkieTalk where we can all come and ask these questions when we are in a panic. Sometimes you just don't want to pay $75 for a vet visit if it is something that doesn't require a vet visit but you are still worried. Your pups are going to be so well-raised, and whoever gets them will be lucky. You seem like such a caring mom. Good luck from here on out! Please keep us updated on their progress! |

Yes thats what I tried first. I placed an open topped storage container on the couch but it was a no-go. She still moved them onto the couch beside the container. So thats when I tried it her way. Everything has been fine ever since. A little background on me that might be of interest is that I am a stay @ home & homeschooling Momma. I knew "about" when she would have the pups and had planned to stay at home the entire first week. To be honest I have not left the house since the pups were born unless I was taking them and Momma to the vet. So to say that I put her on the couch and gave her her way is to an extent true but I am never more than a few feet away and at all time listening and willing to help if need be. I do not want her toting them around but dont interfere with her nosing them around to get them close to her or out of harms way. She has truly surprised me by being extremely concerned of the pups. | |

| ![]() I'm sorry.. I really didn't mean to sound harsh, or like you were stupid, just was worried and concerned. I'll butt out now, and wish you the best.
