| Question on possible spay issue: Wosie has a very frequent urge to pee. Has anyone else with a newly spayed girl had this problem? Wosie will pee her puddle, and then she will go around 3, 4, 5 more times like she is trying to pee, and nothing comes out. She has also been leaving little dime-sized puddles everywhere in the house like she is marking! I have a diaper on her now so we don't keep getting our socks wet, lol, but I just wondered if anyone else's pup experienced this and what your vet did about it if anything. I will be calling our vet first thing this morning as soon as they open. She isn't in any pain, and she doesn't look like she is straining. I did some research and I see that it is not uncommon, but I wanted to see if anyone here has been through this. THANKS for any help you can give me.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | she might have just gotten a UTI. that's what it sounds like to me. it may or may not be related to the spay. is she still on antibiotics from the spay? you may need to get some more from the vet. bring in a urine sample when you go so they can test it. |

| My son's dog had some problems after her spay surgery, but the vet treated her with some meds daily for a while, then went to weekly and now monthly and she is back to normal. Let us know what your vet says!!

| I spoke to my vet... Can you BELIEVE I have to try to collect some of her PEE??? lolol get this, the vet tech said to follow her around first thing in the morning with a container, and when she squats, to try and catch it!! You have GOT to be kidding me, lolol, like Wosie wouldn't look at me with a WTH expression on her little fuzzy face and try to get away from me, hahahaha!! The other thing she suggested is that if she goes on a hard surface (which she does, I let them pee on my outside deck) to syringe some of it up after. THAT I can do!! I am still laughing at the image of me chasing Wosie around with some type of catch cup...lolololol Thanks for your good wishes, Deb! The tech thinks she might have a UTI. I'll keep you up to date.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Lol your welcome...lol. that has to be easier than trying to get up under her. come now...that would surely stop her in her tracks. plus syringing up piddle won't it be contaminated that way...lol. good luck....

hey i had to do that for years! LOL i walked after dogs with a small tupperwear dish at least once a day for the past year trying to catch pee as a vet tech. its not that hard, and after a while doesn't seem that ridiculous. i got quite good at it too *beams* hahaha easiest think to do is fine a piece of tupperwear that you can fit between her legs and right when she goes to squat stick it under her real fast. Most dogs don't even notice. This is easier to do with your dog on a leash. If she goes on teh floor then you can just suck it up with a syringe. but its not that hard to catch it in tupperwear | |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | oh god, that just reminded me. i had this one dog who absolutely refused to pee in the tupperware. everytime i stuck it under him, he would stand there leg up and refuse to pee, then when i moved it away from him he would pee again, so i'd try and stick it back under him and he'd stop peeing, still with his leg up. Then he would turn his head and give me this look that said 'hey lady why are you trying to interrupt me while peeing? It was hilarious. me and the ower were laughing so hard. i tried his 5 times with him, and he did it each time. i can't believe a dog has that much control over his pee. |

OH OH!!!!! Can you have Dave videotape it too? LOLOL I wanna see it on Dropshots!! Oh pretty please? LOLOL (I crack myself up! )
