| are these symptoms familiar to you? i'm not quite sure what's wrong with bunjee lately. i have an appointment with the vet but it's not until monday. i'm hoping someone might find these symptoms familiar and have some ideas as how i can help remedy the problem prior to going to the vet's. TIA. symptoms: - morning vomiting. vomit texture is mostly light brown to dark yellow bile with foam. mostly foam. - loss of appetite. refusal to eat almost everything, including treats! he eat a little in the evening but it's like 1/4 what he used to eat daily. - loose stool. stool sometimes rather liquid, but usually like cow pie. no blood in stool. no visible parasites. other comments: - no difference in energy level so long as i'm ready to play with him. but he seems a lot more calm. - he is currently 7 months old, 7 lbs - most baby teeth are lost. adult teeth are growing in but some molars and pre-molars just erupted and not yet grown in. - has been on the same food for the past 8 weeks. not a switching food problem Last edited by hunniebunnie; 04-20-2006 at 10:26 PM. |

| When does he get fed? If it's too long between meals, Yoda will throw up some yellow bile (mostly foam) in the morning too, we've found that a light snack or a small meal around 10pm helps solve this problem. If he's not eating anything, have you considered topping off Mr. Bunjee's food with some chicken broth? Or something smelly that he likes (not necessary flavored heavily), as I think they care more about smell. We've gotten Yoda to eat by doing that. For the soft poop, bones can make their poop hard. Yoda gets hamhocks (big hamhock bones which won't cause a problem or won't get caught in his throat as he can't swallow it) and he loves to gnaw away to get at the marrow inside. It's good to hear The Bunj has good energy, Yorkies do seem to have little personality changes throughout their lives, the calmness could be due to the fact he's not eating as much. Hope he bounces back to normal real soon for ya! |

| it could be as simple as teething, but you need your vet to rule out parasites. i would call the vet and see if you can bring in a fecal sample for testing today. usually, they will have time to at least do this, if they don't have time to see you. let us know what the vet says. |

| I agree with Lacy's Mom and I know you really study what is good for your little one so the best thing you could do is rule out parasites. Until the vet rules out anything you might want to do the old chicken and rice diet.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali was thowing up the bile 3=4 mornings a week, because she wasn't eating enough. I switched her to chicken and hamburger 6 weeks ago to get her to eat more and about 3 weeks ago she started begging for her food, eagerly awaiting meal time and has even eaten Maya's food a couple of times. I also feed her 3 times a day. Knock on wood it's been 3 weeks since she threw up bile. She is 10 months old and spayed now so I don't know what the change was in her eating habits was from but i said to my husband I would not have believed it a few weeks ago if you had told me Cali would be jumping on my leg for her food. She has always been a picky eater. She is even eating the dog food I am mixing in with it. Hopefully Bunjee will feel better soon. I think a stool sample is a good idea, they can give you results today. Hope he's feeling better soon.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | poor baby !! I hope this helps...Chanel just had something similar and she hasn't been ill in 3 years. She had the same energy levels and still played with her toys - but was throwing up on and off for 2 days.....Just as we were ready to go to the vet she ate and seemed fine. I hope this is the case for you.....Good luck !! |

| thanks for the feedback and suggestions everyone. i did try to make him some food with just ground beef and rice and he started to eat a little more regularly again. his poo has gotten better since thursday as well. last night he finished all his kibbles without the homecooked incentives. his poo yesterday was a little soft, but otherwise solid. i'm feeling a little more relieved now. i'm gonna observe him a little more closely today and see if it's necessary to still take him to the vet tomorrow. |
