Yes other things such as long term use of medications that can be toxic to the liver such as Phenobarbital can cause abnormal liver enzymes.Sometimes if that is the case the vet may switch to a med that filtrates or metabolizes thru the kidneys.Cathy and Yoshi

Hi, i am read this discussion and its scaring me! How prevelant is this condition? Are thier any detections or things i can do lessen my puupys chance?!

puppies are born with shunts, or develop them later from medical issues. im sure your puppy is fine unless he is showing symptoms. welcome to YT!
