| Droopy Reggie... My baby, Reggie, just spent the night with my inlaws while my husband and I were away for the evening. When I picked him up, he seemed very lethargic and according to my mother-in-law he hadn't eaten much today but she had given him some Karo syrup. I've been home with him for about 2 hours and have given him 1 cc of Karo, plus he's eaten a few bites of dry food and some chicken baby food but he's still not his usual perky self. He weighs about 4 pounds and is 3 months old. How much Karo syrup can I give him? Thanks for your help!

| Sorry no one's replied. Since your puppy is eating some, he may be just fine. Perhaps he's just tired from having spent the night away from home. I babysit my daugter's shepard - and he's big and healthy, but he always goes home worn out and sleeps a lot more than usual. And - it's not because he does so much while he's here - I just think being away from home in a different environment makes him tired. Keep an eye on your little guy and let him sleep - sleep - sleep. Probably by tomorrow, he'll be himself again. Also - he's only 3 months old - he's just a baby. My pup really slept a lot when he was that age.....still does!! Good luck! Carol Jean |

| Toto slept a lot at that age too. She also acts like that if we have to leave her for any reason ... she tears around like she is wild for a minute and than just lays around like she is pouting! Hope he snaps back soon.

| Sometimes when you leave them, they get their feelings hurt. When I used to take mine to the groomer's when they were puppies, they would cry and whimper for hours after they saw me. Like, how could you do that to me? hehe I do my own grooming now and have for years because of that. So, I would think the lethargy is the same thing. He'll prob be fine tomorrow. If not, then re post and see if we can figure out what's wrong. Prayers to him! |
