| Not drinking My baby Rylie was in the hospital for 2 days and was on IV, now that she came home ( yesterday evening) I’ve noticed that she isisn’t drinking any water, atleast not on her own. If I put my fingers in her water she will lick my wet fingers or I have one of those water tubes like for hampsters and small animals that if I give that to her she will drink for there also. But she is not drinking on her own. Does anyone know why? Or how to make her drink her water from the bowl? Also the reason she was in the hospital was for vomiting well she didn’t vomit from Sunday at about 3am till last night at about 2:30 ( she came home yesterday evening) she threw up about a little bigger then a quarter size and there was no food just yellow bile. Why did she vomit? She’s okay now and hasn’t vomited since and even when she did she went straight back to bed. Is she gonna be ok?

| I would call the vet back and ask him. she may have vomited due to low sugar level. And she may not be drinking because she isn't thirsty. You could try putting a little karo in her water to make it sweet for her and to keep her sugar level up. Other than that I would just keep trying with an eye dropper. |

| Hi, I can't offer too much advice - but I do hope your little one is healthy and running around real soon I have noticed that our Punkin drinks a lot less now that we are homecooking for her. Perhaps your little one is eating something softer and more moist than usual (and not as active) and therefore needs less to drink. Just a thought anyway.

| I would call your vet again and tell them that she is not drinking any water and threw up again, doesn't hurt to ask? Better safe than sorry ...... |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Keep trying to give her water any way she will take it and call the vet! Cali was in the er vet for 2 days, had surgery and was fine for 5 days then she started vomiting the last 3 mornings at 4:30 yellow bile. I am waiting for test results but I really can't explain the throwing up. I feed her at 10:00 at night so she's not starving by 4:30. I'm beginning to wonder if it's just something i am going to have to live with. Good luck, if I get any answers on Cali I will let you know it may help your baby.
