Need Prayers-Cali is back at the ER Vet
 
Please say a prayer for my baby Cali. She started with diarrheaat 1 this morning and had 5 bouts of it with some blood in it. She the started throwing up at 5:30. She had an appointment with her regular vet today at 4 but I didn't want her to dehydrate so I took her in to the ER vet. They are going to IV her and wait until 2 this afternoon when she will have gone 12 hours w/o food (I gave her nutrrcal at 2 this morning otherwise they could have done it at 10. After her episode Monday I am really thinking she has Liver Shunt. I don\'t know what to to i\'m so afraid of losing her.
I know people on here have had babies with Liver Shunts I will read past threads but please post any information you have that may give me hope.

PATTI OMG - I\'m SO SORRY to hear this - little Cali has my prayers right away and GOOD LUCK ! I am really sorry and know you must be worried sick :(

Oh Patti, Im so sorry to hear this! :cry: Keep your faith and your hopes up and i will be praying for you and your baby. Cali is such a little doll. Good luck hun, and keep us posted.

I am so sorry to hear about Cali ..This was the first thing I read when I signed on my computer. I said a prayer for her and will be thinking of you and her all day:( Please keep us posted....

I will keep you both in my prayers! How old is she and how big is she? Have the vets said they think it may be a liver shunt? Have they done tests? I do know there is a surgery available in some cases. Is this the first time she has had trouble? I hope they can give you some clear information soon and a treatment plan!!

Let\'s hope for the best but if it is shunts let\'s hope it\'s operable or atleast able to be maintained by diet. Good luck.

Cali is 7 months old.and weighs 4 lbs. Her history is 2 epiosed of hypoglcemia when I first got her at 9 weeks, which were due to her being so small 1 lb and having keenel cough and ciccidia and not eating. Then on Monday evening i woke her at 9:30pm to eat and she stumbled down the stair and was acting weird, all wobbly but almost acted like she was on drugs. She would put her foot down like the floor was closer it was weird. After giving her Nutrical and taking her to the ER vet overnight she was fine the next day. Yesterday she was greta playing, eating good and then woke up at 1:30 with diahrrea which she had maybe 5 more times and then started vomiting arournd 5:30 so I took her in.
The blood ammonia test was normal her only bloodwork that was high was her BUN. Some of her symptoms sound like LS from what I have read but I am praying it isnt.Thanks

Well from what you are saying I\'m not sure I would jump on the LS yet. I think vet\'s do automatically. This could be many other things also. A 4 lb dog shouldn\'t be getting constant diarrhea though. Some lines are very prone to diarrhea and eating disorders, could be pancreatis or colitis. There are lots of things that could be causing this, so let\'s see.

OMG Patti - I\'m sooooo sorry! :( I have been praying for Cali since all this has started. PLEASE let me know if I can do anything to help. I will PM you.
