| Torn ligament Hello everyone! I know I haven't posted in forever, but just wanted to let you know that Huey, who turned 9 in February, tore his cruciate ligament today while we are on vacation! Unfortunately our vacation just started and we have almost two weeks before we go home, but the local vet who examined him said surgery being delayed 2 weeks is not a big deal. He did offer to set me up with an excellent board certified orthopedic surgeon here, but I wanted to have it done where the same doctor can continue his follow-up. I have him on meloxicam and I have already emailed his regular veterinarian to get an appointment the day after we get home as well as a board-certified orthopedic recommendation. My little buddy is acting pitiful, but he is on meloxicam and he will be fine. I will update once he has his surgery.

| I have been through this twice with Callie. The crate rest after surgery is the worst part.

| Change of plans. After sleeping on it and talking to my regular vet this morning, we have decided to go ahead with surgery today. Wish us luck! We are at the center now about to have the consult prior to surgery.

| Callie had a partially torn ACL in one so we fixed the knee at the same time. I ignored all the studies and friends experiences and several years ago got her other knee done then a year later the ACL tore on that one so it ended up being 3 different surgery’s. Generally if it tears in one it will tear in the other so I learned wait for the other to tear before doing any surgeries on that leg.

| Surgery is over & he did well. The knee is now stable. He's waking up well and we get to pick him up at 9 a.m. Thank you for the good wishes!

| Huey's coming home! Picked him up this morning. He is still pitiful and trembly but is starting to relax a little. He has finally lifted his head off my shoulder and is looking around.
