| Baby Aspirin My 1 1/2 year old Yorkie is limping around and I gave her a baby aspirin. How often can I give it to her? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | She actually needs to see a vet to get the cause of the limp diagnosed. Baby aspirin would not be the appropriate medication to give for pain here.

| Aspirin has been found to be very dangerous for dogs because it thins their blood out and can cause bleeding in the stomach. You need to take her to the vet figure out the issue and get a real and safe pain medicine for her. You can’t just band aid the problem you need to figure out what’s causing it.

| I agree with everyone else. See a vet first to get a diagnosis. The vet can then prescribe medications (if needed) that have been proven to be safe in dogs. Aspirin and other over-the-counter painkillers for humans are not safe to use for dogs. Here is an article that discusses this: https://www.petmd.com/dog/centers/nu...ation-for-dogs |

| Totally agree with all .. nothing more to add. Please get your pup to a vet asap and don't give any more meds until prescribed by the vet!
