| metronidazole I have a 7 year old male Yorkie named Elliott. I have previously posted about his diagnosis of MVD and chronic pancreatitis. His conditition has been well managed with medication the last 3 years, but we are now dealing with the fact that he may have metronidazole toxicity. Has anyone else dealt with this situation? Thank you |

| Our last yorkie had genetic IBD and we had her on metronidazole for most of her life. It was the only thing that worked for her and she lived to 12 1/2 years but the drug caught up to her. It can affect their nervous system and she started have seizures. At that time that was all we could use and we even had her to the University Animal Hospital in St. Paul,Mn. Hope everything goes ok for you. Susan |
